Good morning!
Have you ever felt ungrateful or ashamed because you have what you need and want but you want more. You know something is missing because you have a void, an emptiness. You don’t discuss how you’re feeling because when your family and friends look at your life they assume you have it all. They’d ask, “Why are you complaining?” So you remain silent but that does not make this go away.
Can I ask you to read Matthew 19:20-21 because it totally addresses what you’re feeling. ¶ The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.fn What do I still lack?”
21 ¶ Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
Do you know lack here means, to be deficient, to be in want of something. But, if you want to be perfect, meaning complete, wanting nothing, and whole, you still need the Savior. Your emptiness is genuine and it’s valid. There’s no need to feel ashamed for wanting more.
