Have you ever wondered what it truly means to move from doubt to faith? In this reflection on the encounter of Thomas with the risen Christ, we are invited to see how the wounds of Jesus become the doorway to a deeper revelation—not only of the Son, but of the Father who is revealed in Him. This is not merely a story of one disciple, but a journey that speaks to each of us, especially in moments of uncertainty, calling us to confess with a living faith: “My Lord and my God!”

Welcome Home: The Celebration the Father Prepared

A Sermon on Luke 15:11–32

In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus reveals the heart of the heavenly Father. The story is not only about a son who returned home; it is about a Father who was already watching the road, ready to run toward His child with compassion.

The father’s embrace, the robe, the ring, and the banquet all proclaim the message of the Gospel:
those who return to the Father are welcomed, restored, and invited to the celebration prepared for them.

This sermon explores the deeper meaning of that celebration—
the Father’s compassion, the restoration of sonship, the sacrifice that makes reconciliation possible, and the banquet that points to the Eucharist and the eternal feast of the Kingdom.

“This son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.” (Luke 15:24)

May this message remind us that the Father is always watching the road, ready to welcome His children home.

Glory be to God forever. Amen.

The Banquet the Father Prepared: A Sermon on Luke 15:11–32

In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus reveals the heart of the Heavenly Father in one of the most moving scenes in the Gospel. A lost son returns home, and the Father runs to meet him, restores him as a son, and prepares a feast of joy.

In this sermon, we reflect on how this story reveals the Father’s love, the sacrifice of Christ, and the deeper meaning of the Eucharistic banquet where God continues to welcome His children home.

✝️ What if the path to Christian unity isn't at the end of a theological debate — but at the Lord's table?
The Eucharist was never meant to divide us. From the bread and wine of Melchizedek to the Last Supper, from the early Church's one table to the fractured communions of today — Scripture and history both point to the same truth: Communion doesn't follow unity. Communion creates it.
We wrote an article exploring this powerful vision, inspired by Hegumen Abraam Sleman's groundbreaking book "The Eucharist: Heart of the Christian Unity." 🕊️🍞
