SMMC St. Michael’s Methodist Church Jersey City St. Michael's Methodist Church (SMMC) was established in 1950 and incorporated in 1956 under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Ralph E Brower. During Rev.

Brower's ministry years, he received his doctorate in Theology as well as other degrees and in his latter years was ordained Bishop. The church's ministry was serving people in the community and beyond by helping and assisting. After Bishop Brower fulfilled his tenure, Rev. Joel M. Brissett became pastor to carry on the mission until the time had come for him and his family to relocate to a new life. Succeeding him, was Rev. Garrett M. Thomas who then filled the position of pastor at SMMC for a season and then began his new church ministry. At present, Rev. Troy P. DeCohen serves as pastor of the St. Michael’s Methodist Church as SMMC moves forward in bringing forth the gospel of Jesus Christ to equip God's people to do His work and build up His church body.
