Integration is a Spiritual Discipline

When we think of spiritual disciplines, we often think of practices like prayer, fasting, study, or silence.

These are important. They create space for awareness, connection, and growth.

But there is another discipline that is often overlooked.

Integration.

To take what you have learned—what you have discerned, what has been revealed to you—and to live it consistently…that is sacred work.

Integration requires a different kind of attention. READ MORE at https://www.clergyandcongregations.org/archive/may-centering-articles/integration-is-a-spiritual-discipline

We often move quickly from one demand to the next. From one decision to another.

But meaningful change rarely happens in that pace.

It happens when we create space—
to reflect, to listen, and to move forward with intention.

My work is centered on creating that kind of space through retreats, leadership development, and consulting.

Formed by What We Scroll: Technology
and the Shaping of the Soul

We often think of technology as a tool.

Something neutral. Something we use.

But over time, most of us begin to suspect that the relationship is not quite that simple.

Because what we give our attention to… also forms us.

Every scroll shapes perception.
Every notification interrupts or redirects our focus.
Every algorithm learns what holds us—and gives us more of it.

And slowly, almost imperceptibly, our inner world begins to mirror the patterns of our digital one.

Fragmented. Reactive. Urgent.

This is not a moral failure. It is formation. READ MORE at https://www.clergyandcongregations.org/home/formed-by-what-we-scroll

Staying Awake: Justice, Truth, and the Refusal to Look Away

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from paying attention.
To injustice. To suffering. To the ways systems harm, distort, and exclude.

At times, it can feel easier—more manageable—to look away. To soften the edges of reality. To accept the narratives that make things feel less urgent, less complex, less costly.

But the work of justice begins with a simple, demanding practice:
Staying awake.

Community After Resurrection: Why We Cannot Do This Alone

Resurrection does not send people out alone. It gathers them.

In the days that follow Easter, we find the disciples together—behind locked doors, around tables, walking roads in conversation. Even when they are uncertain, even when they are afraid, they are not isolated.

They are with one another.

This is not incidental. READ MORE at https://www.clergyandcongregations.org/home/community-after-resurrection.
