God of warmth and light,

As we enter the season of summer, bless this congregation and all who gather here. May these longer days remind us of your abiding presence and your unfailing love.

Refresh us as cool water refreshes the weary. Renew our spirits when we are tired, and fill our hearts with gratitude for the beauty of your creation. As we travel, rest, work, and play, keep us safe in your care.

Bless our worship, our fellowship, and our service. Open our eyes to see Christ in our neighbors, our community, and those we meet along the way. May our church be a place of welcome, hope, and refreshment for all who enter. Amen.

When the days are bright, help us to share your light. When the world feels weary, help us to be bearers of your peace. And wherever this season takes us, keep us rooted in your grace and growing in your love.

In the name of Christ, our source of life and joy, we pray.

On Juneteenth, we pause to remember June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached more than 250,000 enslaved people in Texas—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, community, and the ongoing work of justice.

As people of faith, we give thanks for the courage of those who endured, resisted, and dreamed of a more just world. We celebrate the gifts, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black Americans, while recommitting ourselves to the work of equity, reconciliation, and beloved community.

Blessing for Juneteenth
May the God of liberation bless us with grateful hearts,
open our eyes to the stories of those who came before us,
strengthen our commitment to justice,
and inspire us to build communities where every person is valued, loved, and free.
May we remember the past with honesty,
celebrate the present with joy,
and walk into the future with hope.
May freedom ring in our words, our actions, and our relationships,
until all God's children can live with dignity, peace, and abundant life.
Amen.

Faith, Creativity, and Community

This summer, we're delighted to feature a special Artist-in-Residence Program showcasing the creative talents of our own church staff.

While you may know them as pastors, leaders, and ministry partners, they are also photographers, painters, woodworkers, and artists who find joy and meaning through creative expression. Their work offers a glimpse into the ways creativity, faith, and everyday life intersect.

Following worship on Sunday, June 7, we invite you to stay for Coffee Hour and meet the artists. They will be available to share their work, talk about their creative journeys, and answer questions about the pieces on display.

We hope you'll take a few extra moments to enjoy the exhibit, support these talented members of our church family, and celebrate the many gifts that make up our community.
