Deconstruction was never meant to be the destination. You don’t tear down a house just to admire the rubble—you clear away what’s unsafe so something stronger can be built in its place. 🔨⚓

Today, we wrapped up Week 7 of our Deconstructing Faith series with a look at Matthew 7:24–27.

The truth is, Jesus never promised a life without storms. The rain falls, the winds blow, and the waters rise for everyone. But the storm doesn't create the foundation—it reveals it.

If life’s storms have exposed some leaks or cracks in your faith, that’s not the end of your story. That’s the beginning of reconstruction. It’s time to stop decorating what needs to be rebuilt and start anchoring to the only Bedrock that holds: Jesus Christ.

Whether you were in the sanctuary with us today (even after a busy Saturday at Summer Jam Jenkintown!) or joining us online being Bedside Methodist 😉, we are so glad you’re here.

THANK YOU, JENKINTOWN! ☀️🎉

What an unbelievable, joy-filled afternoon at our Summer Jam!

The turnout was incredible, and seeing so many smiles, laughter, and families coming together was a true blessing. The children and parents had an absolute blast—the bouncy house and water slide were non-stop hits, and our face painting station had a line all afternoon long! Add in amazing music and delicious food, and it made for a day to remember. 🎶🍔🎨

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to the countless volunteers, organizers, and supporters who poured their time, love, and energy into making this event happen. There are far too many to list, but your hard work did not go unnoticed!

A special shoutout to our community partners:

❤️ Jenkintown United Preschool (JUMP) and the Jenkintown Food Cupboard (JFC) for your wonderful partnership and support.

💙 State Representative Napoleon Nelson for stopping by to support our community! A special thanks to Rep. Nelson for stepping up when we ran out of supplies and donating an extra 25 bookbags so we could serve every child in need.

Thanks to everyone's generosity:

🎒 58 total bookbags were blessed and given away to students for the upcoming school year!

💰 Over $600 was raised to directly support the Restore the Happich Annex campaign!

God is truly at work in our community. Thank you to everyone who came out, supported, and made Summer Jam such a triumph! Amen! 🙏

Hello JUMC Friends—

We are looking for more volunteers to lead Children's Moments starting Sunday, September 6, and continuing through the month as I recover from a skull fracture and brain bleed. ( We have coverage 9/13.)

Please check your calendars to see where you might fit in to help. To make it as easy as possible, scripture lessons and even potential children's sermons can be provided.

Please let Karen know if and when you are available to help.

​Cost: Free admission!

​Highlights: Live music from Henry Hall & The New Dimension, bouncy house, water slide, face painting, and a free bookbag giveaway.

​Food & Raffle: Food and raffle tickets will be available for purchase, with all proceeds directly supporting the Happich Annex Campaign (restoring the building that houses Jenkintown United Methodist Preschool and Jenkintown Food Cupboard).

This past Sunday was truly amazing! After worship, we hosted our Financial Stewardship Luncheon and are incredibly grateful to Andrea, James, and their New York Life Insurance team for guiding us on how to manage our finances more effectively. Furthermore, the food was absolutely delicious! Everyone was well-informed, well-fed, and very happy! If you couldn't make it this past Sunday, we'll be having another luncheon in the future! But I'll just say you missed out!
