Hi friends!

A reminder that the next meeting of Wild Church is this coming Saturday 5/39/26. The weather looks ok that day. I just set up an ad and we have this as an event as well BUT the best way to share is person to person, so we also ask that you send this to friends and invite them to join us.

Please like and share and follow us, too. Details in comments.

Mr. Perrin Bear and I invite you to the next Wild Church gathering:

When? Saturday May 30 at 1:00-2:00 PM
Where? Perrin Park, 414 Perrin Lane, Jeffersonville
Who? All ages are invited, and you are encouraged to bring others- family, friends, youth, adults, co-workers, and neighbors with you!
Why? We will ponder the natural order given to our universe as we contemplate Creation. Lots of wildlife and interesting plants to be seen as you stroll in this lovely suburban park.
How? Be sure to dress for the outdoors and weather as this is a rain or shine event. We will meet in the parking lot. This is a FREE event, and this park has restrooms and is very accessible with paved paths.
What? Bring a chair if you want to sit for contemplation. Bug spray and sunscreen are a good idea too.

Be there for this early summer gathering focused on reclaiming wonder and awe!

In a previous life I was a children’s librarian. Recently, I was thinking about the picture book Ferdinand. It’s about a young bull who is not fierce, who just loves to sit under a tree and smell flowers. In the end, he is spared the bull fighting ring, because he likes to just ponder Creation. A small “moral of the story” for you today!

“…Let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. Genesis 1:4.

I’ve been thinking about space a lot this last week with the Artemis I Moon mission photos coming in, a chance to see the movie Project Hail Mary and finishing a Robert Silverberg sci-fi novel where the crew roams the galaxy. And of course, all of it makes me think of our Creator who is so more than what I can possibly comprehend!

I’ve started to follow Sean Dietrich who is a great writer (but Renaissance man too because he’s a musician and artist). I’ll put a link in the comments. Here’s an excerpt from a post about walking the Camino de Santiago on a pilgrimage with his wife.

I highlight it because when we contemplate Creation I think this is what we are doing. Observe, Reflect, Respond, REST. Enjoy Easter weekend however you celebrate and make time to rest in Creation.

“Have you ever curled up next to someone you love and watched television together? Or read books in silence? You’re not talking. Not thinking. You’re just together. No effort.

Maybe now and then you rest your head against this loved one. Maybe they lean over and give you a little kiss on the hair. Maybe you drift in and out of sleep, with your whole body pressed against theirs. Maybe this loved one is your parent. Or your spouse. Or your child.

You feel safe with them. And loved. Content simply to exist together for this brief moment in time. There is nothing grandiose about it. There is no yearning. No striving. No panicky begging. Just deep rest.”

Feeling a bit unsettled by the weather or what is going on in the world?
"Creation (in the Psalms about creation) is not a theory about how the world came to be. That is not how the Bible speaks about creation. It is rather an affirmation that God's faithfulness and goodness are experienced as generosity, continuity and regularity."
from Walter Brueggemann in Spirituality of the Psalms

Take some time today to read a creation Psalm like 104. Go out into creation and contemplate God's faithfulness and goodness.
