📢 URGENT COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE SOCIAL CONCERNS MINISTRY

Beloved Church Family and Community,

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, we want to make sure everyone is aware that SNAP (food stamp) benefits may be suspended starting November 1st. This means many families in Georgia—including right here in Twiggs County—could experience a disruption in their food assistance.

What You Need to Know:

• October benefits were distributed as usual, but November benefits are currently at risk.
• If the shutdown continues, EBT cards may not be reloaded on November 1st.
• This could impact over 687,000 households in Georgia.

How We Can Help Each Other:

• If you or someone you know receives SNAP, please plan ahead and use October benefits wisely. We suggest they be used by October 31st to head off any possible issues.
• Local food pantries and community resources are preparing to assist—reach out if you need help.
• Williams Chapel is exploring ways to support affected families. Stay tuned for updates on food drives and assistance opportunities.

Let us continue to pray for provision, wisdom, and justice during this time. If you have questions, please contact the Social Concerns Ministry.

With love and solidarity,
Williams Chapel CME Church

Our Story

Here at Williams Chapel CME Church there is something for everyone to connect to. All of our activities are designed to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ. Each ministry is set up to minister to the specific needs of its age group or ministry type. We have ministries for children, teens, and everything in between. You will find that is geared to minister to the whole family, build and equipping you for the work of the ministry and helping you to be complete in Christ. We look forward to growing alongside you in the things God has destined you to do.

Getting connected at Williams Chapel is Simple. All you have to do is go through a partnership class that is led by our pastor for all new members. The class will teach you about us, who we are, our beliefs and many other things about Williams Chapel, our Pastor, and Staff.

As you look around, you will observe Williams Chapel to be a high-energy, spirit-led, Bible-based New Testament-minded body of believers dedicated to loving and serving people. Our leadership team is committed to the development of every believer into a vibrant and passionate disciple of Jesus Christ. It is our desire that everyone come to know the fullness of God’s love and Mercy through Jesus Christ.
