"Who Were the Women at the Tomb?"
Session 1: Mary Magdalene
Matthew writes, "Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb (28:1)." Mark says, "Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome brought spices, so that they might go and anoint him (16:1)." Luke's version of resurrection morning names, "Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and other women with them who told this to the apostles (24:10)." And John records that only "Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb (20:1)."
In scripture not many women are named. Who are these women and why are their names recorded? What was their place in the life of Jesus? Were they disciples, too? Come join us as Pastor Karen leads the conversation for the next two weeks (April 19 and 26) at 9:30.
