I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Psalm 122:1

Are you “glad” that tomorrow (first day of the week) has been set aside as a day of worship? Do you look forward to attending worship with your church family? Have you ever attended a church service where the praise and worship time was, well, boring?

In some churches it may seem that the congregation is reluctant to join in the worship, singing either very softly or not at all, as if the singing part of worship is something only the song leader is qualified to do.

Sometimes, it seems that there’s no joy, and there doesn’t appear to be any true worship. This is not how God has directed us to worship. We are to worship Him with our whole hearts with sincerity and with joy!

Several times in the Bible, we are told to make a joyful noise to the Lord, and in the verse above, we are encouraged to be glad!!! And when we’re glad, our face generally reflects that gladness.

Worship is about giving God our praise and thanksgiving. We are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. When we pour our entire heart out to God during worship, we will find that our heart is being filled with the joy of the Lord.... and if we are honest, sometimes we all could work on letting our faces reflect that we truly are joyful

I got this in an email about 25 years ago and it still moves me to tears and I just felt called to share it today. So here is today's devo:

When I was little , my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She told me she was embroidering.

I told her that it looked like a mess from where I was. As from the underside, I watched her work within the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hand, I complained to her that it sure looked messy from where I sat.

She would smile at me, look down and gently say, "My child, you go about your playing for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side."

I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the bright ones and why they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass, and then I would hear her voice say, "Come and sit on my knee."

This I did only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or
a sunset. I could not believe it, because from underneath it looked so
messy.

Then she would say to me, "My child, from underneath it, did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a pre-drawn plan on the top. It was a design. I was only following it. Now look at it from my side, and you will see what I was doing."

Many times through the years, I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and
said, "Father, what are You doing?"

He has answered, "I am embroidering your life."

I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads
seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright?"

The Father seems to tell me, "'My child, you go about your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will see the plan from My side."

Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. “

Jeremiah 31:3

If we could comprehend and except who we are in Christ, we would be the most joyful people on the planet. The God of the universe absolutely adores each and every one of us.

Too often we look in the mirror and we are critical of what we see. We see every blemish and wrinkle. That is not at all what our God sees!

God loves you with the love that has no limit and no end. He looked through time and desired your presence, and sent His son to die because He wanted you to spend eternity with Him!!Doesn’t that make your heart jump joyfully?

Are you lacking joy today? Seek God, and you will find that much desired joy on the journey! Develop a desire for God!! You can’t help but live joyfully when you realize how much He loves you…wrinkles and all!!

[8] but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 ESV

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2 Peter 3:8

God moves in His timing, not yours. He is never late, nor is He early, His timing is perfect and gives us what we need, when we need it! When He sees fit, He will intervene and use His perfect timing as we continue to pray and seek Him…so continue to walk with Him, be aware of His presence, and be patient!!

We must learn to trust God’s timing. If you are waiting for something, set aside your own timetable. Trust God and believe that while you are waiting for your breakthrough, He is doing a good work in you for His purpose. You must develop patience and trust that God will deliver when the moment is right.

And when that moment comes (and it will!), it will be your “woohoo moment” and you will smile BIG, and you shall PRAISE!!! What an amazing and beautiful plan our Abba has for His children!!

And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be like a foolish man, who buids his house on the sand: Matthew 7:26

The Bible has a lot to say about how we should live our lives. If we know how we are supposed to live and disregard that knowledge it is foolish.

As we build our lives, we should strive to build on a solid foundation that will last forever, the Kingdom of God. That foundation comes from consistent study of His word and much prayer.

What are you building your house on? No matter what is going on in this world, if you have a firm foundation, fully rely on God and TRUST Him completely everything will work out.

Today we all need to pray for increased faith and strength. We are promised that God will never leave or forsake us. Praise Him and Thank Him for His many promises today!

Show an attitude of gratitude everywhere you go and remember to pray for the lost, sick and broken-hearted today.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight; If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. - Romans 12:16,18

You live in a fast-paced world that seems to be placing more demands on you with each passing year. People are hurrying everywhere, and often they are rude and short-tempered. It seems the very atmosphere of the world is charged with stress and pressure. But the good news is that as a Christian, you don’t have to operate on the world’s system, reacting like the world.

The world responds to difficulties by getting upset, but Jesus said in John 14:27 that you should stop allowing yourself to be agitated, disturbed, and upset. You do this by learning to be adaptable. It’s not always easy to give in and do things differently, but it is easier than being upset and miserable.

Learn to bend so you won’t break. Allow God to lead you out of a stressful lifestyle into one of peace and joy.

Choose a great attitude today, smile and let your light shine!!
