Happy Saturday!
As we prepare our hearts for church tomorrow, let us reflect on this incredible truth:

Hebrews 10:19-22

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Let us draw near to the Lord together as we meet at 10am for song worship and studying God’s word.

Mark 9:50

“Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

Join us tomorrow at 10am for song worship and worship through the reading of the word together.

"What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” - Mark 10:9

In this passage of Mark, Jesus is defending the original intent behind the institution of marriage. When we look to the world rather than the Creator, we get a worldly outcome. God's Word demands we have a higher standard for marriage!

When approached by the Pharisees on the topic of divorce, Jesus appeals to the creation account, not to talk about divorce but rather to talk about marriage. This is where Jesus points to for the institution of marriage and the comparison he makes is striking.

Be intentional with the time and opportunities you have. God has you where you are for a reason, don't forget that. The extraordinary happens in the everyday, ordinary moments when we make them count for the Lord.

Isaiah 43:10-12

“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor shall there be any after me.
I, I am the LORD,
and besides me there is no savior.
I declared and saved and proclaimed,
when there was no strange god among you;
and you are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and I am God.

Please join us tomorrow for worship and reading and studying Gods word together at 10am!

There is an interesting encounter we come to in Mark 9 where Jesus' disciples come across someone outside their group casting out demons. When John reveals this information to Jesus, Jesus responds in the opposite way than the disciples did, telling them "do not stop him." Jesus goes on to say "the one who is not against us is for us" (Mark 9:39-40). Bible interpreters go in all sorts of directions on this, opinions ranging from an all inclusive mindset to strict exclusionists when it comes to ministry across denominational lines. Is Jesus teaching that his followers should wholesale endorse everyone who is doing something in his "name"? There are many groups and individuals that wield the name of Jesus but teach and live contrary to what the Bible teaches. Do we sacrifice truth for the sake of unity? Jesus isn't instructing us to validate every ministry or organization that may carry his name but rather reveals the deep discernment followers of Christ must have in a world filled with confusion. Truth is what truly unites.
