Today our children did their Easter activity, a week late.

We made resurrection rolls. This is our annual tradition.

We took Jesus’s body (marshmallow) and prepared it for burial (butter, cinnamon, and sugar), then we sealed it in the tomb(crescent roll). We made sure the tomb was guarded (oven and little soldiers), but after 3 days (15ish minutes) the tomb was empty!!

Today in Children’s Church we packed our shoe boxes. The kids learned about missions and how they became missionaries by helping with missions such as OCC. They are already brainstorming another mission to help out closer to home. Stay tuned! These kids are excited about helping!!

We talked about how we are sharing what God has blessed us with. We also prayed over the boxes before we left today.

The children’s group is learning about the Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission the next few weeks. Today we heard 2 stories from people who received boxes as children and how much it meant to them. We are learning how the Bible tells us to help others and share our material possessions.

Today they got to see a box packed with examples and start an About Me page to pack with our boxes. We will pack our boxes in late October. They will learn to pray over the boxes so their items in them go where they are meant to be.

If you would like to help the children with this mission, you can send small items with them to church or give them to me. No liquids, candy, or food. Our goal is for each child to be able to pack at least one box each.
