This year we are offering 2 different sizes. We are offering a small box which would be for a small family (1-2 people) or a large which would be a for a larger family (3-5) people. The large boxes would be the same size as the boxes we offered in the fall.

Hi friends!
We have been BUSY busy around here!
We have been pulling out the old plants from all the greenhouses and hoop houses.

Our students have been working hard at getting new seeds planted! We are dreaming big this year & believing with Him that our gardens will be successful!

So far we have planted:
800 spinach
1160 beets
3360 heads of garlic
5760 onions
1000 tomatoes
308 lettuces
225 hot peppers
510 sweet peppers
1728 brassicas & greens

We still have to plant peas, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, eggplant, okra, purple hull peas, radishes & turnips.

Yesterday we had about 14 cubic yards of compost delivered that we are excited to use in all of our houses and outside gardens. It was fun getting it all unloaded out of the dump trailer!

Thank you all for joining us in prayer for our gardens and the families they will bless and feed.

"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants, nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things go. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will be rewarded according to their own labor."
1 Corinthians 3:6-8

Hey everyone! We just want to let you all know that we have an abundance of cucumbers right now and we are having a flash sale! So if you've been wanting to put up some pickles or relish, now's the time! Bulk orders of 5 pounds or more are just $1.00 lb. Three regular sized cucumbers equal about 1 pound. These have not been washed yet so look a little dusty, but they are really nice! We have long Unagi Asian type, Regular Corinto dark green, and smaller Diva cucumbers available. The easiest way to order is by going our online store at sweetharvest-tx.com where you can also check out our other great produce. If you don't shop online, you can simply comment what you want here and we will get you set up.

Hi friends! As we are starting week 2 of our October CSA share boxes it is time to start thinking about our "not so perfect produce". We have never successfully had a growing season where every piece of produce is perfect and beautiful. That is typical with any gardening. That gives us an opportunity to provide some items at a discounted rate. We will also at some point between now and the end of the fall growing season certainly end up with some excess!

We are considering offering a "misfits" box option with the "not so perfect" but perfectly fine, produce as well as any excess, if we had any that week. Here's what that means and what it would include.

Each time we harvest there is always produce that ends up not as pretty or perfect as others. Slight discoloration, funny shaped, minor bruising, etc. This makes it so we wouldn't choose to take it to markets or put it in our orders or CSA boxes, but it is still perfectly good produce! Over the spring we had HUNDREDS of pounds of "not so perfect" tomatoes. Now, they did not go to waste, but we thought we might offer a misfit box option to ya'll and see what you think! Some of the produce may be absolutely perfect and be included in the misfit boxes because we have an excess amount of an item.

Here's how it would work, each week after we have filled our orders and CSA shares we will evaluate what we have left over. We will compile the produce in to boxes and then post how many we have available. We are considering offering 2 sizes, one for a single person or a small family of 2, and one for a larger family of 3 or more. Please share your feedback and opinions with us.

They will be valued easily 25% more than the price you pay for the box.

There are still some kinks and details we are working on and trying to figure out but we would LOVE your feedback and opinions!

Please share your thoughts with us!

Jesus loves you and so do we!
