Consequently, we believe that the Bible is the only safe and sufficient guide for faith and for practice. The term “Free” refers to our form of church government (congregational) which assures that our local c

hurches are free from a central controlling body. Evangelical Free Church of America churches depend upon the active participation of pastors and lay persons in discerning God’s will for each local congregation. Our purpose statement, “Transformed by the Word to transform the world for Christ,” is based on 2 Cor. 3:18 which states, “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” As a fellowship of Christians, we long to see spiritual transformation in our lives. It is our belief that Christ-like, transformed living will provide an effective witness.

If you’re in JC plan to join us for the beginning of Lent at the Ash Wednesday service. Wednesday, February 18, 6:30 pm, at Central Church.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the 40 day period leading up to Easter. It is a period of reflection and intrpspection as we examine the meaning of our Faith in our own lives while at the same time Christ journeys towards the Cross, His Crucifixion, His Resurrection, and our ultimate Salvation.

On Wednesday, February 18 at 6:30pm, Central Church, in conjunction with Living Hope Church Jefferson City, MO, will gather in our sanctuary for a service of solemn reflection and the distribution of ashes. We hope that you will join us for this meaningful service.

Central Church is located at 118 W. Ashley St. in Jefferson City, 2 blocks south of US50 between Broadway and Jefferson St. (just look for our steeple.)
