Eight years ago today, we were blessed with this office space! It's on Missouri Blvd in the Jefferson Plaza. This has been such a wonderful place for us to grow, make changes, and see what God can do daily!
There have been disagreements, really hard days, and disappointments. Days I wanted to give up and give in, but God has always been there and watched over Redeem.
There have been many shouts of laughter and an abundance of tears shed here.
Lives have been transformed, prayers prayed (and answered), and lots of love shared.
I've made mistakes, felt a ton of heartache, and cried a river of tears over the years.
My belief is that we've all gone through something that will help someone else. We learn from our mistakes; we grow in our successes, and we share all of it!
Jesus wants us to "love one another." That's what we want to do.
This past year has been a time of soul-searching for me. With health setbacks and situations that arose that made me seriously reevaluate the reason Redeem even exists, our doors were almost shuddered. BUT God...had other plans.
After wallowing in self-pity for several months, not wanting to make changes and just plain give up, there were many things made very clear to me about myself, people, experiences, passion, and Jesus.
Changes were made to allow Redeem to truly be a ministry and do God's work, not mine. Changes were made to the programs offered so there would be complete clarity in all that is done here.
God is a God of second chances and at Redeem, our mission statement says, "...because every life counts, and no life is beyond redemption."
No one is without fault, fear, or sin. Everyone is different, unique, and a person who has caused heartache and suffered heartache. At Redeem, we accept everyone.
We are here to serve others as we are called to do. We are here to "love one another". We are here to show up in the lives of others, give second chances (and sometimes third or fourth or more), acknowledge we aren't perfect, and share the love of Jesus in our words and actions.
I am blessed to be a part of this fantastic ministry God put in front of me after my own life experiences and the feeling that I didn't have much to offer.
One of the hardest lessons in life is letting go. Whether it's guilt, anger, love, or loss. Change and growing from our life experiences is never easy. We fight to hold on and we fight to let go. We think we don't have what it takes to do what we are called to do...BUT God gave me what I needed to do this!
Redeem Project Ministry exists to be a light in a darkened world.
In May of this year, Redeem celebrated 14 years which is very exciting. Many told me we'd be lucky to be open more than a couple of months! And many didn't even give us the two months! Well, here we are 14 years later, ready to celebrate 14 more!
Stop by any Wednesday from 8:30 to 3:00 to visit, pray, join a class (classes are at 10) or volunteer.
We'd love to visit with you!
Have a blessed day!
