First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette Sunday Schedule
-------------------------------
Worship Service -- Summer schedule begins 5/31/26: Worship begins at 10:00 am (announcements at 9:50 am) W.B.

The First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette was founded in 1889 by its founder, the Rev. Carr, in downtown Jeannette. Since then, we have grown into a 200 member congregation dedicated to the missions, works, and Word of the Lord. The church doors are always open and welcomes anyone to come join us for Sunday School and Worship Service, Bible studies, and other fellowship activities planned through

out the year. On the last Friday of every month (excluding July) is the Jeannette Presbyterian Food Pantry sponsored through the Westmoreland County Food Bank. This congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church USA denomination, Synod of the Trinity, and Redstone Presbytery. This page is maintained by the Fellowship and Church Growth Committee.

A day late for Pentecost, but maybe not for Whit Monday.

Holy One, let your Spirit, our Advocate, guide us—preserving us from judgment, protecting us from sin, and leading us into righteousness, so that we may testify to the good news: fullness of life and joy for all; through Jesus Christ our Savior and in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

"Memorial Day invites us into a sacred pause. It is more than a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer. It is a day set apart to remember, intentionally and reverently, those who gave their lives in service to others. It is also a day to acknowledge the quiet grief carried by families, friends and communities who continue living in the absence of someone they love."
In today's Mission Yearbook entry, the Rev. Dennis Hysom, Executive Director of Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies, shares a Memorial Day Devotional. Read the full reflection here: https://hubs.ly/Q04hl-Cn0

On Memorial Day, we take time to remember and reflect upon the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in service to our country. In commemoration of today, the Presbyterian Historical Society is sharing this 1969 photograph snapped by the Religious News Service at the National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, during a Memorial Day commemoration service. The caption reads, “This scene will be repeated in every U.S. community on May 30, Memorial Day, when the nation pauses to remember its dead.”
