Remember St Monica today and ask for her intercession.

Today, August 27, we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Monica, whose patient prayer and steadfast faith helped lead her son, Saint Augustine, from a life far from God to conversion and holiness. For many years, she entrusted her family’s struggles to the Lord, refusing to surrender to discouragement. Through her intercession, may all who pray for loved ones who have wandered from the faith find renewed hope, trusting that God’s grace is always at work and that no sincere prayer is ever wasted. Saint Monica, pray for us!

As you are aware the Reverend Michael Sikon, a priest of the Diocese of Greensburg passed away on, August 19, 2026.
Funeral Arrangements are as follows:
Viewing: Friends and family will be received at Saint Barbara Roman Catholic Church, 111 Raymaley Rd., Harrison City, PA on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and conclude with Evening Prayer at 7:00 PM.
There will be a viewing at St. Barbara Church on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 10:45AM.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Saint Barbara Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in the Priest Plot at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
I ask that you keep Father Sikon and his whole family in your prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
