This scripture has been on my heart the last couple of days.
Malachi 3: 1-3 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.
We often cannot understand the trials we go through and question God when we feel we have lived a righteous life.
Most of the time, our sin/wrongs/habits/hurts and scars are hidden deep within us, its not until the fire of God comes to try us in our faith, these things are pulled and revealed.
The devil wants to use the fire against us instead of us submitting to the fire of God that cleanses us like silver. We make the process more painful and prolonged, instead of saying, ok Lord take it out, I submit this pain to you, burn it out and cleanse my heart.
Submitting to the fire of God is going to be ugly at times, you will see things manifest inside of you, that you had no idea even existed, I called these blind scars (the time the pain afflicted and was pressed so deep within) but yet has effected your everyday living without you having the eyes to see the affliction.
These scars will keep you from your potential in God and may even have you settling your entire Christian walk, it will actually keep you from the breaker anointing.
Consume us God, consume us with your fire and Glory, that we are so pure, only you remain seen. Open our hearts and help us submit to your consuming fire, get self out of the way.
We all need to put a log (wood and stubble) upon this fire an offering of self and let God have His way in our lives. We are made whole by walking and submitting our lives to the consuming fire of God, amen!!
