Please know that we are aware of the limbs down at the cemetery, we couldn’t find any damage, and will start clean up when the weather is a little nicer.

Y’all stay safe and warm, and don’t hesitate to call 911 if you have any issues.

I said I was going to start with the ‘unknowns’, I need to know if people are burried here or if it’s a ‘reserve market’.
If you know these folks please let me know who they are, or ask them to contact me. My phone number is 408-382-0878, Michelle Byerly. I need to know if I need to place grave stones here and if so, are they ‘unknown’ or can I identify them.

If you know of any others that might be unmarked, please let me know.

1. Woodrow W. Ernigan (???) On a funeral home stake and beside it a blank marker. These are between Terrie Ard Mcardell and Sharkey & Thelma Moore. These were actually bent and in the ground, we just saw something shining and found them.

2. This cross with no name between Wilma D. Nash and Albert Lloyd Merchant. On the very back row

3. A similar cross a few rows up that says Merchant in marker. There is also a blank funeral home stake beside it, indicating another grave

We also have questions about a plot that is between Ann Dean Lane and Landon Lane. There were concrete blocks there like the spot was being reserved, but we were told by a grave digger that he could promise someone was there.

There are some others, but it’s just rocks or a seashell- if you reserved your spot with a rock or somethung similar, please get with me so we can identify the plot.

Again- please speak with parents, grandparents, family and friends who might have plots marked out here and let them know- we have got to make sure their plots are still marked. If there is not a VISIBLE marker with a legible name, I can not promise it will not be used.

And we MUST be contacted when you mark plots. If they are not on the list in writing I can not verify that they are yours.

As many of you know, we rely on donations to maintain the cemetery, and we are tasked with everything from maintaining a presentable and clean cemetery to monument repair. This means we are definitely feeling the current financial climate and have been for some time, but that doesn’t excuse us from our duties. Last year the board had to make the decision to forgo the voted on cleaning of the monuments in order to fulfill the groundskeepers contract.

Then a generous donation was made for monument cleaning for the WHOLE cemetery! It was completed this week.

Here are some before and after pictures.

We still need to level some graves, and we will be getting a quote on them soon, we will post the names on the monuments that are the most in need and if anyone would like to donate to that project we would welcome your generosity !

Please watch in the next few days for posts about unknown graves, unmarked graves and other issues we need knowledge or money to remedy. We will also be posting an updated plot map this weekend. Please share with siblings, parents, cousins and friends. Many, many ‘reserved’ plots are not properly marked and we don’t know who they belong to!

Huge thanks to Pearson’s monuments for an outstanding job!!

Does anyone know who could be buried here? It’s between Walter Folsom and Clem Byerly? It is a fairly new grave- but there is absolutely no identifying markers anywhere on it.
