Read this passage everyday this week. Put your focus on how great God’s love for you is. When we are rooted firmly in God’s love for us, us loving others will flow from it. Fruit isn’t something you force. Fruit is a product of the root.

Romans 8:35-39 TPT

“35Who could ever divorce us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love, 36even though it is written:
All day long we face death threats for your sake, God.
We are considered to be nothing more
than sheep to be slaughtered!
37Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything!
38So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. 39There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”

What is going on in Afghanistan right now is absolutely heartbreaking. Knowing what the people are facing over there can make us feel hopeless over here. Like there is nothing we can do as we watch from the other side of the world, but we can pray.
Prayer is powerful!

The Bible tells us it is our job to pray for all believers (Ephesians 6:28.) that most definitely includes our Christian brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. Pray that they will have boldness (Acts 4:29) and pray for their protection (Psalm 91.)

Pray that everyone over there turns to Jesus. Jesus is enough. He is the answer for us in every situation and He is the answer for everyone over there right now. He is even the answer for the Taliban.

Saul persecuted the church until Jesus showed up on the road to Damascus (Acts 9.) He was not beyond salvation. Pray that the Taliban will be having “road to Damascus” experiences. What a testimony it would be to have those trying to destroy the church end up building it.

The Bible is full of scriptures to pray in this situation. I encourage you to open your Bible, search His Word, and pray His Word. Church, let’s rise up and pray. Our supply in prayer is so needed!
