If so, why not volunteer at this year’s Burnt Mountain Center project where you will help make “cubbies” for the program participants to put their things when they come into the Center. You may help with this event by going to the Serve Pickens website (Facebook will not let me publish the link again!), click on the volunteer tab, and choose Apple a Day. We are a small food pantry and depend entirely on private donations. Our food supply depends upon the donations we receive, so our selection of food varies every month, and it sometimes is limited.
Our mission is to serve only those who are struggling with food insecurity. If you no longer are struggling with food insecurity and you can help others, feel free to drop off food donations anytime on the front porch of this building.

Yesterday, Commission Chair Chris Stancil and Jasper Mayor Kirk Raffield signed a proclamation declaring 10/24/26 as Serve Pickens Day. Wow! Today was a great day of Neighbors Helping Neighbors as Serve Pickens joined forces with Keep Pickens Beautiful, the Pickens Family Connection, the Small Business Development Council, the City of Jasper and Pickens County to renovate the Peace Park across from the Wood Bridge. A huge thank you to Bill Johnson, his company Global Stability, and his team! Bill generously donated his company’s time, equipment, and expertise to bring this project to a successful conclusion. And, a big thank you to Bill and Dos Margaritas for feeding the hungry workers.
