Faith Lutheran Church-ELCA Sunday Worship: 10:15am,
Sunday School: 9am,
Communion 1st and 3rd Sunday,
Young at Heart 2nd Sunday Robert C. Christianson. Mott and Second Streets.

Faith Lutheran Church was organized in October, 1964 through the impetus of Axel Johansen and Supt. Following a series of meetings a small group met with the officials of the synod and through the spiritual guidance of Rev. Gordon Narvesen, Pastor of North Waseca Lutheran Church, the new congregation was formed. This was the humble beginning of Faith Lutheran. In February of 1966, the purchase of

the old Methodist church building was completed and for 40 years the congregation worshiped in this historic building at the corner of N. In 2006, the congregation completed the first phase of their new building,located on Owen Street in Janesville, and moved to this new location. The seed of faith has been planted, we hope we can help you nurture it and allow us to grow along side you.

Say hi to Geffrey and Jessica, it's their first day to church!

Our kids are actively involved in making Faith a welcoming place for all, and we wouldn't have it any other way :)

Our worship service and all activities on Sunday 3/15 are canceled due to the impending blizzard!

Please stay safe and warm at home tomorrow, and say a prayer for all who find themselves at work, on the road, or out and about for any reason during hazardous weather. May we all be safe, have warm shelter, and tremendous patience and care for one another wherever we are as we wait out the storm.

With the snow storm on the way, here’s a reminder to check for cancellations before you leave for church on Sunday! Our weather updates are posted on this page, the home page of our website, and KEYC.

From Bells Across Minnesota:

For centuries, communities have sounded bells to call people together.

This Saturday, January 31, all faith communities in Minnesota are invited to ring their bells for 10 minutes, starting at noon.

The ringing of bells will bring us together, stir our hearts, and strengthen our commitment to the health of this state that we love.

**If you would like to be at North Waseca to pray, to gather in faithful community, and to take turns ringing the bell, you are warmly welcome. Doors will open at 11:30am**

A note from Pastor Sarah:

Friends, we join our neighbors in Minneapolis in their grief and prayers following yesterday's violence. The fear and uncertainty that many are experiencing regarding the current situation with ICE in our state is real, and when one member of the body of Christ hurts, we all hurt. Our call in this moment is not to escalate violence with our words or our actions, but to love more deeply and strive to honor the image of God in one another.

The sanctuary of Faith Lutheran Church will be open tonight from 4-6pm, with a brief service of prayer at 5:00pm. If you need a space to bring your prayers, come light a candle with us. Be not afraid - God is with you.

From Psalm 94:

How long, O Lord,
how long shall the wicked triumph?
They bluster in their insolence;
all evildoers are full of boasting.

They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your very own.
They kill the widow and the stranger
and put the orphans to death.

Yet you will not abandon your people,
nor will you forsake your very own.
If the Lord had not been my help,
I should soon have dwelt in the land of silence.

As often as I said, “My foot has slipped,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, upheld me.
The Lord has become my stronghold,
my God is my rock of refuge.

From Revelation 21:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth;
for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,
and the sea was no more.
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“See, the home of God is among mortals.
God will dwell with them,
and they will be God’s people.

God will be with them
and will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.”

And the one who was seated on the throne said,
“See, I am making all things new.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the beginning and the end.
To the thirsty I will give water
as a gift from the spring of the water of life.”
