Friends of Light and Life Park,

We are in need of your support! Time is of the essence as we need 80 volunteers to urgently help in the next 10 days with cleanup efforts. There are 170+ homes that have been damaged by hurricane Milton.

We need strong men and women willing to do dirty jobs at this stage of recovery. If you are able to help move large items, rip out flooring, cut out walls, remove insulation, or help with basic cleaning - we need you!

Please send a team... or even 2 or 3 individuals to help. There is housing (cots) and two meals are provided (donations toward food are appreciated).

We are looking to you to be the hands and feet of Jesus and communicate His love in tangible ways to those who have suffered greatly.

Please join us in prayer for those in the path of Hurricane Milton. Below the prayer there is more information about additional steps on how you can assist with hurricane relief.

O Father,
We come humbly before You, seeking aid for those who are weary from the storms and desperately in need of Your help. Guide those who can evacuate to safety and protect those who cannot escape the path of Hurricane Milton. Lord, please hold everyone in the path of this incoming storm in Your strong hand and be their refuge. Grant unparalleled strength and resolve to the first responders and volunteers who will selflessly come to the aid of those in need. Inspire neighbors and communities to unite, becoming stronger than any hurricane force wind, to protect and support one another. Let us demonstrate that we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and no matter what challenges are faced it will not prevent us from helping one another. Father, help Your children lock arm and arm around all, below all, and above all as they surround themselves and their communities in Your light and love.

These funds will support churches that serve communities. We have churches that are serving as shelters for those that cannot evacuate. We have several churches that are gathering critical resources such as food and water for disbursement to the communities, first responders, and volunteers on the ground.

This event will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., Eastern Time, (9:30 a.m., Central Time; 8:30 a.m., Mountain Time; 7:30 a.m., Pacific Time). It will be simultaneously broadcast on the National Prayer Ministry Facebook and Free Methodist Church USA pages.
