In Luke 5, before the miraculous catch of fish, the disciples were busy with a mundane task: washing their nets. It wasn't the exciting part of the job, but it was essential.

Often, we want God to work through us to do big things, but we forget that He first wants to work on us. Washing our nets means clearing out the debris: the doubt, pride, and distractions that keep us from being ready for what is next.

If you feel like you are in a season of waiting or cleaning up, remember that this isn't a delay. It is preparation. God works on our hearts before He works through our hands. Let’s lean into the process together and see what He has in store.

There is still time to register for Conference Sessions 2026!

Join Seventh Day Baptists from across our Conference family July 21-26, 2026 at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as we gather around this year’s theme: “Follow Me…I Will Make You Fishers of Men.”

Conference is a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, learning, connection, and shared mission. Whether you come every year or this would be your first time, we would love to see you there.

Join us in prayer this weekend as our leadership teams gather in Janesville.

From June 5-7, the SDB General Council and the Coordinating Leadership Team (CLT) are meeting for a time of prayer and strategic planning. Our focus is to refine how we equip and support our churches across the USA and Canada.

We are glad to have Dr. John Stumbo joining us for these sessions.

The Seventh Day Baptist General Conference is seeking someone to help steward the financial resources, systems, and processes that support our shared mission. We are excited to welcome Nate Crandall as our new Coaching Coordinator.

Nate joins the team with years of experience serving the SDB General Conference, most recently as the pastor of The Connecting Church in Milton. Many in our community already know him through his impactful work with church planters and his leadership with SCSC and Emerging Leaders.

In this role, Nate will provide vital support and guidance to our leaders and churches across the United States and Canada. His commitment to Biblical-centered living and community growth makes him an excellent fit for this position as we continue to empower our local congregations.

Join us in welcoming Nate to this new role. We look forward to seeing how God uses his gifts to strengthen our network and support our leaders.

We’re ready to see these students and young adults serve through SCSC and Dedicated Service projects across the country. Our host locations this year include Berlin, Fort Lauderdale, Good News, West Palm Beach, Salem, Shiloh, and the SDB Center.

These leaders are an essential part of our community, focusing on spiritual guidance and local service. Please join us in praying for them as they travel and begin their work. Your prayers and support make a tangible difference in their ministry.
