Fr. Gilbert Carlton Council 9360 held our 5th annual council picnic yesterday. The forecast called for partly cloudy skies - someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. The intermittent showers didn't dampen the spirits of the almost 50 Knights, wives, and kids that showed up though. The Council provided brats, hot dogs, and drinks, while everyone else provided the delicious snacks, salads, and desserts. Everyone enjoyed the fun, food, and camaraderie of the afternoon.

The Knights of Columbus had a great picnic with current Knights and interested prospects last Thursday. Brats, burgers, and great conversations filled the night. The 4th Degree Assembly 1209 (Beloit/Janesville) organized a prayer service and Rosary today at Mt. Olivet to honor the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Thank you to all you who have, and are, serving our country. We will meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at 3PM to pray the Rosary again.

The three KC Councils in Janesville spent the weekend offering Tootsie Rolls as a fundraiser to help those with intellectual disabilities. Brother Knights spent time at Woodman's, Farm & Fleet, and Sentry. Each Council also spent time after each Mass raising money. Our Brother Knights worked hard but we were all put to shame by our youngest (and cutest) volunteer.
