Happy May 31st! The “Faithful Few” hope you and yours enjoyed all of the month that went so quickly even with a fifth Sunday. We started with Mother’s Day celebration of all women who have served as mothers guiding and teaching our youth and making the world a better place for all.

Pastor Rodgers’ message “The Fourth Man ” (Daniel 3) was the familiar story of the boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who refused to fall down and worship the King and were placed in a fiery furnace. While the heat consumed the captors, they were not burned. There were many points but the key point was no matter what situation you find yourself whether on the highway, on the job and any challenging life crisis, remember that there is always a fourth man who is in your fire with you. Special thanks to Deaconess Movita Davis for her moving scripture.
Pastor Rodgers and LL Kim were busy all month representing at state and local meetings and closed the month giving the message for Pastor Johnnie Bethea/LL Merion (Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist/Morrisville NC) o his 25th Pastoral Anniversary.
Congratulations to the “Faithful Few” grands who have completed another successful year of college “Khailani Rodgers (NCSU), ; Khailani Rodgers (North Carolina State); Raven Scott (Winston Salem State), Amira Davis (UNC - Charlotte), Alysia Davis (Harvard University). Prayers for them this summer as they prepare for the coming end of their undergraduate years.

Since Mother Davis (97), fell, many of you have asked for an update. She is in rehab and progressing nicely for a 97 yr old. She is busy going through her daily rehab exercises and keeping up with the world news. She asks that you continue to pray for her healing. The Faithful Few has been a supporter of St. Jude and Deacon Herb has been a part of the Susan Komen 5k Run fundraisers to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. The event with tears, dancing, singing and love celebrates the journey of survivors of many years and some are just beginning the journey. We continue to support them through our prayers as well. Happy April! The “Faithful Few” hope you and yours enjoyed all of April, especially the Easter holiday. We also celebrate Pastor Rodgers Pastoral Anniversary which is 18!
Mother Davis (97) opened Sunday School and Minister Neal Lilley was our guest speaker for Easter. His message “What We Lack ” (Luke 24:45,Acts 1:1-8) was to encourage us to carry out the Great Commission (carry the word beyond the church building). He assured us that Jesus will never send us out unprepared. Just as we feed the physical body when we are hungry, we should feed the spiritual needs as well, through study of the Bible to get the understanding needed to make believers of the Word. Just as Jesus was preparing his disciples for his departure, he will prepare us.
Please remember those on our prayer lists and especially our most senior members and friends, Mother Marian Davis (97) who is in rehab from a fall, Ernestine Davis Staten (97), Agnes Dixon, rehab from a fall, Alice Louis Mariner (96), Fred Hopkins (97), Louise Whitley, Charles and Andrew Willis, Joyce Gray, Carol Midgett-Sheppard, Queenie Hardison Barnes; Rodrick Jenkins, (Pastor’s son-in-law) rehab from car accident, family of Rev, Oliver James of “Piney Woods”. Keep them and others in prayer who are on our prayer list.

Happy March! The “Faithful Few” hope you and yours have
enjoyed the celebrations of the month. We also hope you have settled in with
Daylight Savings time, got past St. Patrick’s and Ramadan. In the spirit of our current world, LL Kim’s
Youth message was “Goodness and Mercy, Psalm 23:6” emphasizing how God’s Grace
and Mercy stays with us when we stay in his will no matter what goes on in our
life and the world.
Pastor Rodgers’ message “There’s an APP for That” (2 Tim. 3:16-17) counseled
us on dealing with all of life challenges.
He acknowledged that in our society, technology has created AI, Google
and Apps. However, he informed us that no
matter what challenges you face in life, whether a need for wisdom in love,
finances, work, family, etc., let the scriptures be your app. In addition, he wished for the world to use the
app (scripture) that says; ”Love your enemies and pray for them”.
Please remember those on our prayer lists and especially our most
senior members and friends, Mother Marian Davis (97) & Ernestine
Davis Staten (97), Alice Louis Mariner (96), Fred
Hopkins (97), Louise Whitley, Charles Willis, Joyce
Gray, Carol Midgett-Sheppard, Queenie Hardison Barnes and others.

thanks. As always, please support local

1 Corinthians 10:31
Most of us are aware of the challenges we face today at the gas pump, bills and grocery store. There are lots of articles that provide hints on saving money. Many involve buying and cooking food (see below). Some of us, including the "Faithful Few" support and participate in Food Pantries and Mission organizations. The article below outlines how you can personally determine how you make your food choices. The "Faithful Few" hopes you will make choices based on your comfort level. Bon Appetit and be blessed.

Stop Throwing Out Good Food: What “Sell By,” “Best By,” and “Use By” Really Mean

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.seriouseats.com/sell-by-best-by-use-by-food-labels-11926053&ved=2ahUKEwjUu92S36KTAxXdrYkEHW-YKYoQFnoECA0QAQ&usg=AOvVaw0UqYlHiCPNalZ_MSn6sJw5

“Sell-By” Date: This date is a message from the manufacturer to the retailer, not to you. "Sell-by is a business-to-business date," says Gunders, designed to ensure that stores rotate stock by pulling older products and replacing them. In general, sell-by dates build in a buffer of time—days, weeks, or months, depending on the type of food and the rate the manufacturer assumes the consumer will use it—for the food to make it home and be used. Food at or near the sell-by date is still perfectly fine to eat.

“Best By” Date: Unlike sell-by dates, consider "best by" and "best if used by" dates the manufacturer speaking to you, the consumer, about quality. Before this date, the company is willing to stand behind the product—its flavor, texture, and appearance—as meeting its own standards. After this date, the food may start to decline in some sensory way, but it is rarely unsafe. Schaffner uses chili crisp as an example: Past its best-by date, it might taste oxidized, but it will not hurt you.

“Use-By” Date: This one sounds the most serious and in some cases deserves the most attention, but even use-by dates are not a safety cutoff for most foods. A use-by date is generally the manufacturer's recommendation for when you will get the best experience with a perishable product. For highly perishable items like pre-washed bagged salad or dairy products, it is worth paying attention to. But even these are not an absolute.

Expiration Date: People often use the term "expiration date" as a catch-all that can apply to any of the above types of dates. "We use different words to mean the same thing, and there is an assumption about safety, but there really isn't any," Schaffner explains. Most of what consumers interpret as an expiration date is actually just a best-by or use-by date with a more ominous tone.
