Church Growth and Outreach is always looking for donations for the little free pantry. School has started and it is time for our Giving Tree and donations to the Community Action Backpack Program! You may either pick an apple or apples from the tree and select items from the list posted on the bulletin board, or make cash donations. All donations should be dropped off at the church by Sunday, September 27. The Deacons thank you for your support!

Chancel Choir will start weekly rehearsals Wednesdays at 7:00 pm starting September 9th. All are welcome to join the choir!

Men’s Prayer Breakfast at Atonement Lutheran Church will be September 12th at 7:30 am, and the 1st Saturday of each month following. All are welcome.

Confirmation Class begins September 9th at 3 pm.

Youth Bible study - September 16th from 3-4 pm.

The UPW group will meet September 24th at 1 pm Will meet monthly on the 4th Thursday.

The Deacon’s Offering will be October 11th - we appreciate any support.

The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team is hosting a Widow’s Retreat at Maryvale Retreat Center in Valley City October 9-11, 2026. Contact Carol at 320-3801 or Eileen at 269-4521 for more information.

Get your chili recipes tuned up!! There will be a chili cook-off on October 18th!! Sign up sheet coming soon!!

Do you know a kiddo that is starting school soon? Do you bring a bag to work or college? Please join us next Sunday (August 23rd) in the sanctuary at 10:30am for a ‘Blessing of the Backpack’. You will be provided a keychain for your bag as a reminder that God is always with you! Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall around 11am by the Christian Nurture Committee. We will be having spaghetti and meat sauce/meatballs, garlic toast, and salad. We hope to see you there!

The group will meet once a week on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 424 1st Ave S, Jamestown, beginning August 26th and will run for six weeks. Anyone who has experience the death of someone important to them is encouraged to attend, whether the loss was recent or in years past. The group is free of charge, but registration is required to ensure that enough materials are available. Participants should plan to attend all six sessions. For more information or to register, call Char at 701-320-3297 or Cecelia at 269-4236. Poster on bulletin board in church.
