Fun fact about Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Kiera and Jeremiah were also recently there. ๐Ÿ˜Š

This church holds the Word for the ๐ŸŒŽ World conference each year and the Hite's church in Pennsylvania is the "sending church" for that Mission's Board. So they come down each year.

It's such a small world!

We enjoyed getting to know the people of the church and were SO ๐Ÿ’œ encouraged that 16 people showed up for visitation the day before!

I especially enjoyed the ladies in my Sunday school ๐Ÿซ class. They were very friendly!

Now, we are starting ๐ŸŽ’ school and I am diligently trying to do the editing on the ๐ŸŽต album we recorded in April.

Things are winding down as we โ˜‘๏ธ check things off our to do list as deputation is nearing an end and we are pretty excited!

Happy Wednesday!

We were a little nervous heading to Memphis because of how dangerous ๐Ÿ˜ฐ the city is, but our experience in the suburbs was great.

The people of Calvary Baptist Church had a great spirit of camaraderie! Once a month ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ they break off and do a ladies Bible study / fellowship and a men's one in a different room.

I love how they do it on an existing โ›ช church night because you can tell these people have busy lives. They are a group of hard working people.

Pastor Bob Ho**er told Rick that it was their scheduled"casual ๐Ÿ‘• night" and at the end of the service we could see why.

There were 750 boxes of John & Romans and New Testaments they were transferring from a tractor trailer to a 40 foot shipping ๐Ÿš› container. It was their 16th one this year that they were filling and shipped to different missionaries.

It took 45 minutes to do it all, but all the men rallied together. ๐Ÿ’™

I am glad the pastor was also a hard worker because earlier in the week they had to cut up several trees ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿชพ that had come down from a storm. It had knocked out the electricity in many places around the city.

In fact, the โšก electric panel our RV hooked up to had only gotten power about an hour before we arrived.

Now we are headed back to the Chattanooga area.

One praise is that we were able to complete the Police ๐Ÿ‘ฎ Forms needed for our visas. I highly recommend Certifix Livescan. They made the fingerprinting & FBI process seamless and digital and we were able to get the results in 24 hours.

I didn't even know this service existed but apparently it is a standard ๐Ÿงพโ˜‘๏ธ procedure for many work visas and so capitalism created a solution.

That's all for now! Have a great day!

We were honored to have Conner Heights Baptist Church in Pigeon Forge invite us in for their services on Sunday.

Pastor Jonathon Hatcher was a southern style preacher but he fit in quite a bit of doctrine amidst that distinct preaching rhythm.

The church is about 1/4 of a mile from a ๐ŸŽข rollercoaster and I think that they probably have tourists visit them every service.

We knew nothing about Pigeon Forge but Rick said it is like Las Vegas and Orlando had a baby and it was southern.

I always try to give you guys a glimpse of the places we ๐Ÿงณ travel and here is my description.

It isn't really a tourist "town," but rather one long ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ road 2 one way lanes on each side of a nice landscaped median. But along that strip you find kitschy dinner attractions, mini golf, go-cart racing, a comedy club, museums and the Islands (which is an old-west style area of shops and a Ferris Wheel).๐ŸŽก

They have a lot of car shows throughout the year. They have Rod & Gun Classic ๐ŸŽ๏ธ Car shows but this weekend it was Jeeps. The main way to get around town is with their trolley ๐Ÿšƒ system but it can get very slow with the extra 400 personalized show vehicles.

The locals say that black bears are becoming more visible as more people move into the area. We were surprised ๐Ÿ˜ฏ when one was casually perusing our RV park and smelling the delicious ๐Ÿคค scents on our neighbors picnic table.

Rick did take the trolley to Dollywood to see if anything was visible from the parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ lot, but nothing was and since it cost $100 a person and we are SO road weary the rest of us just stayed in the RV and saved our energy for church.

Now we are in Memphis and hoping to make progress on our visa paperwork and fingerprinting / background checks.

I hope you guys have a great week! ๐Ÿ’œ

We are just about to finish up our Mission's Conference at Harmony Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN and we have been enjoying the slower pace and fellowship. ๐Ÿ’•

This is our second time at a meeting with Scott Caudill from Macedonia Missions. He is always such a gentleman and his love for world ๐ŸŒŽ missions is evident. His music is also on Spotify and I have enjoyed listening ๐ŸŽง to it this week.

Pastor Phillip Trask has a group of people here who have been so hospitable and you can see their forethought and care in the meals and the gift ๐Ÿงบ basket they gave. They both included fresh produce which we love!!!

We are heading to the Pigeon Forge area tomorrow and I am learning to just expect motion sickness ๐Ÿคข on the Tennessee roads. My friend calls me a "Flatlander" and boy is she right. Lol! I am glad we will be on the coast in PNG.

Now we are getting ready soon for the services tonight, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate โ˜บ๏ธ God's people over and over!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Time goes so quickly, wow! We were in Soddy-Daisy, TN at New Grace Baptist Church and what a fun time we had with the church folk.

I really enjoyed hearing about the history of the area and the old school rivalry between the original two towns (Soddy & Daisy) and how at one point if you were from Daisy, it was frowned upon to date anyone from ๐Ÿš†๐Ÿ›ค๏ธ๐Ÿš‚ Soddy. My, how time changes things in some ways.

But Sunday flew by quickly and on Monday we headed about 30 minutes away to Chattanooga where we are at a Mission's Conference.

We are all still passing a virus ๐Ÿฆ  through the family and are super glad the conference only has evening activities.

So that is all for now. We are counting down the weeks until deputation is done and praying about the visa paperwork.

Thanks for your ๐Ÿ’• love and support!

So much has happened in 2 years. This first picture was at the third church we visited on deputation. It was Charlotte's 15th birthday! ๐ŸŽ‚ We will never forget how kind they were to celebrate that day for us!

That was 155 churches ago.

The second picture ๐Ÿ“ธ was the first church we went to and the boys have grown so much and now Silas is 15 and taller than all of us females.

It is WONDERFUL that God has provided us with the support we need in a way where we can make a final drive back west in November before โ„๏ธ snow is on the ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ roads.

Please pray that our Visas come through in a timely manner. ๐Ÿ™

Thank you all for your love and support these 2 years! You have no idea what you have meant to us!!! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค Especially Harvest Baptist Church, All Points Baptist Mission, Heirloom Seed Ministry and our life-long friends in Idaho who keep rooting for and supporting us! Your love is felt throughout!

We arrived at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Thursday and as Rick was setting up he ran into Brad Price, one of the assistant pastors. Which was interesting because he is the husband of one of Rick's childhood friends from ๐Ÿ‘ Georgia.

We didn't even know they were at this church!

In fact, Pastor Ron Ralph said in all of his years as a pastor we were the missionaries he invited that he knew the least about, but we ended up knowing SO MANY ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘ of the same people.

But what a neat church family. One of my favorite parts was the group of boys who surrounded the table and devoured the mints. They made us laugh and laugh. ๐Ÿ˜‚ It reminded me of Silas who took two pockets full after the service once and lined them all up on the table in front of him and systematically ate them all. I love kids!

Also, a large group of teen girls came up to talk to our girls and it made them feel so happy! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค

We were thrilled that the church took us on for support but also that out of the 10 โ›ช churches we were praying for at the beginning of July, we only need 1 more!

Any extra that join with us will be a hedge against inflation, churches that have to change their support levels or the dollar ๐Ÿ’ต exchange rate. One veteran missionary said that when they were in PNG that the ๐Ÿ’ฑ exchange rate caused them to "lose" 1/3 of their available income!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Tomorrow is Charlotte's birthday ๐ŸŽˆ, so right now we are parked outside of Chattanooga and tomorrow we are going on an RV adventure to drive and get all the free things she signed up for on different Apps. ๐ŸŽ‚

That's all for now. K. Bye! โ˜บ๏ธ

I am a little behind on posting because I usually post things on driving days, but Tennessee mountain roads make me ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข. So even though I still feel queasy I am determined to catch up.

We were at Johnson Baptist Church in Philadelphia, TN on Wednesday. Sadly, we tend to forget pictures ๐Ÿ“ธ with pastors on Wednesdays because we get so busy talking, but Pastor Preston Cronan and his family were so kind.

They were missionaries to Wales and still help that church once a week, but God moved them to TN three years ago. They invited us in because they saw we were out of Harvest Baptist Church who supported them while THEY were on the field. ๐Ÿ’œ

We enjoyed hearing their stories and it is nice sharing commonalities about how good it is on deputation to meet so many kind people at churches, but also how nice it is when it is done. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

But then we quickly were off to Carthage, TN and we had a surprise there. I will go write that now. โ˜บ๏ธ

We always love it when the church family feels super relatable and that is absolutely the vibe we felt at Bible Baptist Church in Seymour, TN.

We had so many mutual ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ซ connections and interests with Pastor and Mrs. Jeffers, which was fun because they invited us to their church blindly. We all knew nothing about each other!

But it was a great Sunday and the fellowship with the church was sweet. Everyone was so easy to get along with and we had a great time chatting at Freddy's ๐Ÿจafter the service.

But we are actually already on the road to Philadelphia, TN. All of these next few churches are in the greater Chattanooga area. ๐Ÿš We have heard the construction ๐Ÿšง around here is notorious. We are always grateful for God's hand of safety.

Now off to finish laundry, errands and ๐Ÿšฟ showers for the day.

Bye! โ˜บ๏ธ
