Thank you to all who add food scraps ( no dairy or meat) to our Giving Garden compost bin. We harvested a lot of compost from the bins last week & added to the Giving Garden as we prep to plant annual herbs.

All That You Need Lies Within You

Consider this an invitation
to you.
Yes—you
with all your happiness
and your burdens,
your hopes and regrets.
An invitation if you feel good today,
and an invitation if you do not,
if you are aching—
and there are so many ways to ache. . . .

Maybe your heart is heavy
or hardened.
Maybe it’s troubled
and peace can take up residence
only in a small corner,
only on the edge,
with all that is going on in the world,
and in your life.
Ni modo. It doesn’t matter.

All that you need
for a deep and comforting peace to grow
lies within you.
Once it is in your heart
let it spread into your life,
let it pour from your life into the world—
and once it is in the world,
let it shine upon all beings.

Wishing everyone deep love, care, and connection as we begin Pride Month this year. As a q***r, Afro-Latina cis-woman, I know well how important the example of BIPOC leadership is and how much q***r leadership matters.

To all of my LGBTQIA+ fam within Unitarian Universalism and beyond, may we celebrate our many gifts and community and continue to care for and encourage one another in all the days ahead. We are sacred, whole, and holy – and we are here to stay, to lead, and thrive.

Happy Pride, fam.

You are invited!
Sunday, June 7, 2026 10:30 am. - The Power of Epiphany: Life as an Optimistic Pessimist
Alex Holt - What is an epiphany? It’s also called a peak moment or an ah-ha instant. What can we do to respond to such unexpected moments of insight? How might such moments help in this age of uncertainty?
In April 2023, just before completing four years of contract ministry in Meadville, Pa., and returning to his home in Oregon, Alex Holt spoke for the first – and only in-person – time at UUCJ. He graciously volunteered to facilitate the planning forum that followed that service. This was not long post-COVID, and under his guidance it was a surprisingly positive experience. Alex has been our speaker via Zoom since that fall – monthly for two years and bimonthly this church year. Now that he is ready for “full” retirement, this will be his last Sunday with us. We send Alex our appreciation and best wishes and an open invitation to “come visit” any time! (More at UUJamestown.org/Sundays.)
Linda Hiers is service leader. A forum follows coffee hour.

The mission is not conversion; we're not convinced that people can be converted to a religion with no punishment or fear to hold over people. There are people in the world who would love to know that Liberal Religion is an option available to them, though.

UU Evangelism is about conversation, not conversion; invitation, not intimidation. We just want people to learn that we're out here, building communities that try to be inclusive and encouraging.
