WE'RE HIRING — Sunday Service Supervisors 💛
Jamestown First UMC is looking for two dependable and caring individuals to serve as Sunday Service Supervisors during worship — helping provide a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for children while families' worship.
SAFE • KIND • PLAYFUL
The details:
💲 $20 per person, per Sunday
👥 2 supervisors needed each Sunday (must not be related)
📅 9-month commitment that follows the school calendar
⏰ Sunday mornings only

What you'll do:
Supervise and care for children during Sunday worship, help maintain a safe and welcoming space, engage kids in age-appropriate activities, and work cooperatively with our church staff.
Qualifications:
Dependable, responsible, comfortable with children, with a positive and caring presence. Must be at least 18 (one can be 16+), and at least 5 years older than the oldest child supervising. Supervisors may not be related.
This is a Ministry of Care position — your presence helps children feel seen and loved during worship.

Dear God,
When I rush through my day without noticing, open my eyes to every blessing around me. You are the giver of everything good, and You’ve been faithful to me my whole life. Even the breath in my lungs right now is a gift from You. Help me see today through that lens... not as ordinary, but as overflowing with Your kindness. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” (James 1:17)

Father, I praise You for all You’ve done and all You’re still doing. When I’m tempted to focus on what’s missing, turn my heart back to gratitude. Let me walk in joyful communion with You today, aware of Your presence in every moment and thankful for every good thing You give.

In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Dear God,
When I stop long enough to look around, I see Your goodness everywhere in my life. Thank You for every answered prayer, every open door, and every quiet way You’ve carried me when I didn’t even realize it. Thank You for the people You’ve placed beside me and for the strength You give me each new morning. “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3)

Father, when life gets busy and I start to overlook Your blessings, remind me to pause and thank You again. Let gratitude shape my words, my attitude, and the way I treat others today. I know You’re still working, even in what I can’t see yet... and I trust that what You’ve started in me, You’ll faithfully finish.

Dear God,
When my days feel crowded and the hours slip away faster than I planned, help me slow down long enough to ask You what matters most. When my calendar fills with busy things and leaves little room for You, gently pull me back. Show me where I’m wasting time, where I’m overcommitted, and where I need to rest. Teach me to treat each day as a gift from You... “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

Father, give me wisdom to say yes to the right things and courage to say no to the rest. Help me be fully present with the people You’ve placed in my life instead of rushing to the next thing. Let my time reflect what I truly value, and may every hour bring honor to You.

In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏
