Dear God,
When my future feels unclear, when I'm staring at open doors and closed ones, when I'm unsure about which way to go, and when life has stolen my peace, steady my heart. Remind me that You go before me, and that I do not need the whole path to take the next faithful step. Quiet the what-ifs, settle my spirit in Your presence, and help me trust You with what I cannot see yet. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Father, give me peace that holds even when plans shift. Guide my thoughts, calm my worry, and help me rest in Your wisdom for what comes next. Keep my eyes on You, not on every unknown, and fill me with quiet confidence as I walk with You today.

In Jesus' name, amen. 🙏

Message: On Different Terms

What does it actually mean to follow Jesus when he leads somewhere we would not have chosen? In Matthew 16:21-28, Jesus makes it clear: following him means denying self-rule, taking up our cross, and trusting him with the final word over our lives.

It is easy to want Jesus on our own terms. Like Peter, we say, "I'll follow you, but not there." Not into that forgiveness. Not with that money. Not at that cost. But Jesus calls us past our comfort zones and into something far greater.

The surrendered life is not a wasted life. Whoever loses his life for Jesus' sake will find it. The life we are afraid of losing is ultimately found when we entrust it to him. And we follow not to earn his love, but because he has already given himself for us.

There are a lot of voices competing for our attention every day—some loud, some subtle, some harder to ignore than others.

This Sunday, we’ll open Psalm 149 and listen closely to what it has to say.

Dear God,
When I come to You with fear sitting heavy on my chest, meet me there. When I am afraid of what today might bring, of what I cannot see, or cannot change, wrap me in Your peace and remind me You are in command. Quiet my racing thoughts and steady my trembling heart. Speak courage where fear has been loud. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Father, free me from worry, what-ifs, and worst-case scenarios. Help me take one faithful step at a time, trusting Your presence more than my circumstances. Replace fear with faith and dread with quiet confidence that You go before me. Let Your love cast out fear in my home, my mind, and my heart as I walk through this day.

In Jesus' name, amen. 🙏
