First Fridays Youth Open Mic

First Fridays Youth Open Mic First Fridays Youth Open Mic is coming back from hiatus! Learn how you can get involved! https://linktr.ee/firstfridaysjp

First Fridays is a project of the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. It is a safe space for youth (covering a broad age-range) to share their talents and perspectives, and experiment with various forms of artistic expression. First Fridays is a public venue where people of all faiths and identities are welcome to be themselves and to be accepted for who they are. It is also a place of intercul

tural and interracial conversation and relationship-building, where youth and adults can process their struggles in life, share their faith, dreams, and ideals, and learn more about issues of social, economic, and environmental justice. With all that, it is simply somewhere for youth and people of all ages to come on a Friday night to have a good time. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council, a local agency which is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, administrated by the Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism, and Special Events.

February 2026 open mic was blast and our most jam-packed yet! We had a wide variety of acts - ranging from jazz band, spoken word, unique singer-songwriters acts, a killin r&b duo, an Irish jig and some good ol’ collective improv and cartwheeling.

Thank you so much to our special feature artist for giving us a transcendental set and getting us all up on our feet and groovin’ (we love a dance party!).

Thank you to everyone who came and brought their friends. We hope you enjoyed coming and being a part just as much as we love hosting this space for the community.

See you at the next one on March 6th! ✌🏽Sign-ups at the door and online (see link in bio).
