Have you ever noticed how many warning systems surround us every day?

Our homes have smoke detectors. Our cars have dashboard warning lights. No one complains when a warning saves a life. We expect people to warn us when danger is approaching.

In Ezekiel 33:7-9, God appoints Ezekiel as a spiritual watchman. God expects Ezekiel and all of His people to faithfully communicate His truth and lovingly warn others of the consequences of rejecting Him.

We are not responsible for how people respond, but we are responsible for faithfully sharing God's message.

When You Accept Jesus Into Your Life, Will All Your Problems Disappear?

One of the greatest misunderstandings about Christianity is the idea that following Jesus makes life easier. Some people assume that becoming a Christian means every problem disappears, every prayer is answered immediately, in every path becomes smooth. Jesus never promised an easy road.

In fact, immediately after Peter confessed Jesus as the Christ, Jesus began teaching that he would eventually suffer and die on the cross (Matthew 16:21-28). Jesus taught that crosses and trials always precede the crown of eternal life and glory. Let us pick up our cross and follow Jesus.

Do You Know Who You Are?

An important question that everyone must answer is, "Who am I?" How we answer that question shapes our identity. There is another question, though, of even greater importance: "Who is Jesus?" No question has greater consequences. How we answer that question determines if we will spend eternity with God or eternity apart from him. In Matthew 16:13-20, we see 3 truths:
1. Jesus demands a response to his question: "Who do you say that I am;"
2. Jesus is the promised Messiah;
3. Jesus builds his Church by the confession of his followers.

Who do you say Jesus is?

Do you ever feel excluded?

I There are times in life when people feel excluded.
* Some feel excluded because of their past mistakes.
* Some because they think God could never truly want someone like them and etc.

Isaiah 56:1-8 assures us that we are important to God. God says, "Come to Me." For those who have come to God in faith and repentance, this Isaiah passage shares 5 important truths:
1. God calls His prople to righteous living;
2. God welcomes outsiders into His family;
3. God desires wholehearted devotion to Him;
4. God's house is meant to be a house of prayer;
5. God is still gathering people to Himself.

There is room in God's kingdom for everyone.

Are You "Right" with God?

One of the greatest questions every person must answer is this: "How can I be made right with God?" Every religion attempts to answer that question.
* Some say, "Work harder."
* Others say, "Become a better person."
* Still others say, "Do enough good deeds and perhaps God will accept you."

Christianity gives a radically different answer. The Bible says we are not saved because we climb up to God. We are saved because God came down to us in Jesus.

Paul reminds us in Romans 10:5-17 that we are saved, not by human effort, but by grace, through faith, in Jesus.

Have You Ever Asked These Questions?

There are some questions that every Christian eventually asks:
1. "Why do some people believe while others reject Jesus;"
2. "Can I really trust God's plan when I don't understand it;"
3. "Is God fair?"

Paul wrestled with these very questions in Romans 9-11. In Romans 9 vs 5-17, Paul turns to a heartbreaking problem. If God keeps his promises, why have some Jews rejected Jesus the Messiah? Today's passage teaches 3 things:
1. Our hearts should break for those not in relationship with Jesus;
2. God's promises never fail;
3. Our salvation rests on God's grace, not human effort.

Is your life beautiful on the outside but a jumbled mess inside?

Have you ever looked at the backside of a beautiful tapestry? It is nothing but knots, tangled threads, and confusion. When you turn it over, it is a magnificent picture. Our lives often resemble the backside of a tapestry. We experience life disappointments. We struggle to understand why God allows certain events.

In Romans 8:28-39, Paul reminds us that God sees the front of the tapestry. We discover 3 truths that give us confidence in every season of life. They are:
1. God is working everything for our good;
2. God is completely for his children;
3. Nothing can separate us from God's love.

Ever wonder why Christians suffer?

Every one of us knows what it means to suffer. Some suffer physically. Others struggle emotionally. Some carry financial burdens, and etc. There are seasons where we wonder, "Lord, how much longer?"

Paul was no stranger to suffering. He was beaten, imprisoned, and eventually executed for preaching Jesus. In Romans 8:18-27, Paul teaches us 3 wonderful truths:
1. Our suffering is temporary;
2. Our eternal hope in Jesus is certain;
3. The Holy Spirit is always present.
