As the Pastor of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ of Jacksonville, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our page. We at Emmanuel think of our church as a community of believers wi

thin a community with a world-wide vision that is aimed at reaching the lost, strengthening families, and going beyond the walls of the church. We are committed to making disciples, training and raising up leaders that will impact our communities, Florida, the world, and generations to come. We are called to help people live the abundant life in Christ Jesus. Emmanuel COGIC of Jacksonville is more than a Church, it’s a KINGDOM EXPERIENCE!
..............................................................................................................................

Elder Gabriel Hall served as the Assistant Pastor at Cathedral of Faith COGIC in Jacksonville Florida under the leadership of the late Bishop C.D. In 2001, Elder Hall assumed the Assistant Pastor role in full due to the Hospitalization of Bishop Kinsey. Elder Hall pastured the flock for a little more than 18 months. The decision to branch out and start anew was made by Elder Hall. March 30, 2003, was the first Service held for Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C, at a small wedding chapel in the Arlington area of Jacksonville in January 2004,

The Church body and Pastor Hall were officially Consecrated and Installed by the Church of God In Christ Organization. In February 2005 we purchased land to build a sanctuary. In March 2005 Pastor Hall formed the Building Committee to help with the ins and outs of building. The decision was made to start with the Multi-purpose building and use it as the sanctuary until the church builds the main sanctuary. The Emmanuel Multi-purpose building was completed in late October 2008 and the Emmanuel Church family had our first service in our brand new building at 6326 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2008. Our prayer is that you will be blessed and strengthened by the power of Jesus, and that you will live a life of abundance in fellowship, joy and liberty. Emmanuel COGIC of Jacksonville is here for you. It is not just a church; it is a fellowship of believers coming together to declare the glory of the Lord, and to celebrate Jesus as King. We study the Word, practice what we learn, and in the process grow together. May God richly bless you! May the Lord bless you and keep you! We hope to see you soon!

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
—Jeremiah 29:11
My Prayer...

Give me faith, O Lord, during the times I'm weary, discouraged, and beaten down. Inspire me to trust in your great promises. Please give me courage, O Lord, when my faith wavers. Help me obey your word no matter how challenging it may seem or how discouraged I feel. Thank you for giving me a bright future in Jesus. Please help me live more consciously aware of this great gift. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Balancing Your Books

“...I will give them back everything they’ve lost. The last word is, I will have mercy on them...”
(Jeremiah 33:26, MSG)

In accounting, the term balancing the books means making up for a loss. If an account has a deficit, when you balance the books, you have to first take all the losses, all the deficits, and total them up. Then you know how much you need to add to balance it. When the books are balanced, nobody can tell there’s ever been a loss.
In the same way, God has promised that He will balance the books of our lives. We all go through things that put us at a deficit—a rough childhood, the loss of a loved one, something that doesn’t make sense. If nothing changed, we would be out of balance. Life is not always fair, but God is fair. You may go through seasons when you’re out of balance, but God is going to settle your case. He will add up all the losses, the disappointments, and the heartaches, and He will pay you back.

Jesus said, "Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14

Thoughts for Today
The world wants a Savior but not a Lord. The New Testament is clear, a Savior who is not Lord is no Savior and no friend. If the Old Testament showed us anything, it is that God's seemingly bizarre laws were written not for his fascination but for his people's preservation. Let's not only call Jesus Lord this week, let's live in a way that shows he controls our lives and his Spirit produces our character.
My Prayer
Most Holy Lord, please take control of my life and my will that I may be wholly yours, not just in word, but in thought and in deed as well. Amen.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6

Thought for Today
Prayer is an incredible invitation from God to share with him what is on our hearts. Even when we don't have words to say, he helps us through his Spirit in those moments. This incredibly intimate conversation, sustained by the very precious Spirit of God within us, must never be debased by crass showmanship or pride. Prayer is not done to prove our piety, but to deepen our relationship with Almighty God!
My Prayer
Abba Father, thank you so much for the incredible gift of prayer. Thank you for listening to both my words and my heart. Thank you for being near and not far off. Forgive me when I don't call upon you as often as I should, or when I take your gracious listening ear for granted. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
