Heaven gained another angel. Aisha George was an active member of the St Pius V Youth Gospel Choir in the 90's and one of the soloists. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and has transitioned . Keep her family and her mom, Roz McCoy in your prayers and help if you are able.

The BAP Approach to growing the church: Belief, Action, and Participation is a requirement for St Pius youth.

St. Pius’ Youth, emphasize the value of faith in action, demonstrated through active participation in worship and service.

Our youth showcase their faith through various roles such as singing in the choir lecturing, ushering, singing, and greeting elders with smiles.

We hope you can come to the 10:30 Mass on June 7th to bid farewell to Sister Elise and Sister Rea and honor the Sisters of St. Joseph who have ministered at St. Pius since its beginning, really before its beginning.

The first Sisters came from France in 1866 to begin ministry to the newly freed slaves in Florida. The Sisters first opened a school in St. Augustine and by 1868 had a school in downtown Jacksonville.

When St. Pius opened in 1921, the Sisters moved with their students from downtown to the newly built St. Pius School on State and Lee Streets. The next move came in 1961 to it’s present location.

DOSA Black Catholic Ministry is sponsoring a Cookout for the Memorial Day weekend that will honor a mystery priest. The cookout will be hosted at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 2110 Blue Ave., Jacksonville on Saturday, May 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The presentation honoring this monsignor will begin at 4:30 p.m.
