Ever sit down to pray and suddenly remember everything you need to do?

The laundry. The email. The conversation you need to have. The thing you forgot yesterday.

Or maybe instead of a to-do list, you hear a quieter voice telling you that you’re too distracted, too inconsistent, or somehow not worthy enough to come to God.

You’re not alone.

Prayer matters because relationship with God matters. And when something continually pulls us away from that relationship, it is worth paying attention to why.

This week at Southside, we’re talking about distraction, spiritual warfare, and learning to keep turning our hearts toward God even when our minds want to wander.

What a Wednesday night! 🎉 Midweek Southside has officially begun!!

Midweek Kids launched with run-around games, lots of laughter, new friendships, and Littlest Angel's Choir filling the evening with music and joy. Then came Family Dinner: fried chicken, mac & cheese, green beans, biscuits, and yes, the biscuits were AMAZING. 🙌

We even squeezed in a little Southside Trivia, although the winning team was later disqualified for an unfair advantage. Having a Pastor on your team is just a little too much insider intel. 😂

Life Groups and classes were full of great conversations, as they welcomed new members.

This is what Midweek is: families together, kids having fun, people connecting, growing in faith, and finding their place, their community.

Wednesdays just got better. See you next week!

Can you recognize truth when it has been twisted?

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he even quoted Scripture. The problem wasn’t the words themselves. It was the way they were being distorted and misapplied.

Jesus answered with God’s Word rightly understood.

That’s a powerful reminder for us today. Knowing Scripture helps us recognize half-truths, resist deception, and stay grounded in what God has actually said.

Tomorrow night, we’re kicking off Midweek Southside. 🎉
Family Dinner at 6:00 PM
Fried chicken, mac & cheese, green beans, Caesar salad, Southern biscuits, an ice cream bar and TRIVIA!

Then from 6:30–7:30 PM, stay for Life Groups, classes, Students, and Kids Groups.

Dinner is $5 per person with a $20 family maximum.

There’s a place for your whole family at Midweek. We’ll see you tomorrow night!
