Episcopal Diocese of Florida

Episcopal Diocese of Florida Established in 1838, The Episcopal Diocese of Florida has 63 congregations in 24 counties of Florida.

The Diocese of Florida, seven parishes strong, officially formed on January 17, 1838 and was received into union with the General Convention of the Episcopal Church on September 7, 1838. Despite natural disasters, plagues, war, economic depressions, cultural changes and disagreements within the Church, the faithful and persevering bishops, priests and laity of the Diocese of Florida have forged ah

ead over the past 170 years and remained focused and true to God's call. The call to live and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in community, Eucharist and servant hood ministry is never realized without great sacrifice or great thanksgiving for all that has been accomplished.

As congregations across the diocese celebrate Camp W**d Sunday today, we invite you to reflect on this collect.

For 102 years, Camp W**d and Cerveny Conference Center has been a place of renewal and retreat. And now, Camp W**d is having a renewal of its own—with restored roofs, new HVAC and cooler systems, refurbished buildings, and much more!

This is a place where many have connected with God, found peace, built relationships, and refreshed their souls. The good work has just begun, and we encourage you to pray and give towards another century of faithful ministry!

St. Paul's Episcopal Church - Quincy, FL has been increasingly successful in the last few years in identifying unmet needs in their community and then seeking the right partners to maximize their resources and provide expertise. No outreach program is more emblematic of this than their partnership with OneBlood's Big Red Bus and the ongoing blood drive—the largest in Gadsden County.

After a year of prayer and outreach in search for a service partner, St. Paul's is excited to announce that on Sunday, May 17, The FSU College of Medicine and their HOME Street Medicine Program made their first house call with a pop-up on the lawn at St. Paul's. The medical students, under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Doyle Langley, offered free health screenings, wellness information, and other services along with providing case-appropriate hygiene supplies.

St. Paul's celebrated the kickoff with a potluck lunch and neighborhood fellowship and was joined by the Gadsden County Health Department staff. This partnership will expand in the months to come, demonstrating God's love and compassion to any and all of our neighbors.

Camp W**d Sunday is coming up on May 31, and we encourage all parishes to celebrate with their congregations!

Established by resolution of the 181st Diocesan Convention, Camp W**d Sunday is a time for every parish in the Diocese of Florida to recognize, celebrate, and support this vital ministry.

Camp W**d and Cerveny Conference Center has been a holy and transformative place for the Diocese of Florida for over a century—a space where people of all ages encounter God, find rest and renewal, and grow deeper in faith. Now it is being restored and renewed, and the excitement is contagious.

We rejoice in the great work the Lord is doing at Camp W**d, and we invite you to celebrate, pray, and give towards the next 100 years. The good work has just begun!

We had a wonderful E.P.I.C. gathering in the Apalachee Region! We want to give a special thank you to St. John’s, Tallahassee for their hospitality and to the Rev. Dr. Linda Privitera for her warm and caring spiritual presence.

We are continually grateful for the parish administrators and volunteers in our diocese, and we always enjoy getting together to support one another.

Our team looks forward to visiting the Sante Fe Region next month!
