The month of August was marked by faithful work and joyous celebrations! Parishes and ministries kicked off a new school year, the diocese prepared for the upcoming bishop election, and congregations gathered for installations, ordinations, and visitations.

During the week of the Meet and Greets, the Bishop Transition Committee took the bishop nominees and their spouses on a pilgrimage through the Diocese of Florida. The pilgrimage showed the nominees the beauty, diversity, and spread of our diocese and allowed them to connect with the great work and wonderful people here.

The journey began at St. John's Cathedral and included several other parishes in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach, St. Augustine, Green Cove Springs, Micanopy, Gainesville, and Tallahassee.

The nominees visited some of the diocese's key ministries and partners, such as St. Mary's Episcopal Church & Outreach, Grace Mission, Chapel of the Incarnation, and Episcopal School of Jacksonville.

The stop at Camp W**d & Cerveny Conference Center included a rich Meet and Greet with clergy. When a golf cart broke down, the nominees joined together to push it up the hill!

While in Tallahassee, the group also toured the Florida State Capitol and the Florida Senate chambers.

We thank the Bishop Transition Committee for preparing a thoughtful and thorough pilgrimage, and we share our gratitude for the parish and ministry leaders who took time to show the group around, share stories, provide food, and bless the journey.

We're excited to have four enthusiastic youth delegates join us at the 183rd Annual Convention! These delegates represent their diocesan regions, as well as one at-large member representing Camp W**d & Cerveny Conference Center.

Serving as a youth delegate is a unique opportunity to participate in the conversations and decisions that shape our diocese. We look forward to having these delegates at the Annual Convention next week.

The Green Spirits Film Series begins today!

This September, we invite you to see creation as God sees it — whole, beautiful, and worth protecting.

Green Spirits at St. John’s Cathedral is presenting the Season of Creation Film Series — five Tuesday evenings of powerful documentary film, guest speakers, and open conversation. From the corridors of the White House to the Florida Everglades, these films will move you and call you to act.

We thank the many members of the diocese who participated in the Meet and Greets and extended a warm welcome to the bishop nominees and their spouses.

The final Meet and Greet with the bishop nominees was a wonderful event! Holy Comforter, Tallahassee was a great host for the evening. We appreciate the dedication and work of the the church staff, volunteers, facilitators, and Transition Committee.

We also extend our gratitude to the nominees and their spouses for joining us last week for the pilgrimage throughout the diocese.

We urge all to continue to pray for the upcoming election, the nominees, and those who will be voting.
