A week ago, we read the story of the paralyzed man at Bethesda. Thirty-eight years of waiting, hoping someone would finally help him into the healing water.

But when Christ approached him, He didn’t offer him a hand into the pool. He bypassed the water entirely and offered a new life with a single command: “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

Sometimes we are so fixated on how we think our problems should be solved, that we miss the Savior standing right in front of us, ready to heal us in His own way.
