Jesus overcame temptation and invites us to pray for spiritual victory also. But that calls us to live in harmony with our prayers...depending on His strength and the resources He gives us (prayer, Scripture, support from fellow believers, etc.) to help us! Patriot’s Day
Today we remember.
We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of ordinary people who stepped forward in extraordinary moments.
We also remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, medical personnel, and countless others who responded to evil by putting the lives of others ahead of their own.
Jesus said: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” - John 15:13 NIV
On this Patriot’s Day, may we honor the sacrifice of others by choosing to live with that same spirit of love—not only in moments of crisis, but in the everyday opportunities God gives us to serve, encourage, protect, forgive, and care for one another.
May we remember with gratitude those who sacrificed for us and others.
May we pray for those who still carry the wounds of that day.
And may we follow Jesus by becoming people who put love into action, even in the face of evil.
“Greater love has no one than this…”

Jesus didn't teach His disciples a prayer poem to perform. He called them to a heart-felt conversation that would transform their focus, their values, their lives, their eternity! Lord, don't just teach us a prayer...teach us to pray!

What if love isn't simply something we feel?
What if love is something we put on?
Paul says in Colossians 3:14, “Above all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
Love changes how we respond when we're irritated.
Love changes how we handle conflict.
Love changes how we treat difficult people.
Love changes how we speak to our families.
Love changes how people experience Jesus through us.
So, pull your life together with love! Ask God to pour out His love into your heart by the Holy Spirit (see Romans 5:5).

Sometimes we try to “pull ourselves together.”
We hold everything in. We try to stay calm. We tell ourselves to do better.
But Paul gives us a different answer:
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”
The peace we need isn't something we manufacture. It comes from Christ.
So today, instead of simply asking, “How can I pull myself together?” pray:
“Jesus, please rule in my heart!” 🙏
