Urgent Advocacy Opportunity!

Today, February 11, at noon, the Florida Senate is voting on legislation to extend the Emergency Preparedness Fund, which has been used to fund detention centers. An amendment has been introduced that would limit the fund’s use to natural disasters.

In a state regularly impacted by hurricanes, flooding, and other severe storms, it is critical that emergency funds remain dedicated to disaster response and recovery efforts that protect Florida families and communities.

Please consider contacting your Senators and asking them to support the amendment that limits the Emergency Preparedness Fund to natural disasters only.
