Bitterness is often anger that’s aged. If you went to sleep angry - and we all have at some point - you wake up in it. It’s a new day. Do the work on your end to process it with the Lord and perhaps another trusted soul. Don’t steep in it. It’s a trap.
PUT AWAY ANGER AND BITTERNESS
Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Bitterness and anger grieve the Holy Spirit. Forgiveness is the remedy.
Prayer: Lord, the command from your Word is clear. But I fall so far short of staying free of anger. Forgive me. Empower me to forgive. Together, make my church a place were we are kind and compassionate to one another.
