The Lesson Drawn from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

President Adams stated, “Religion and virtue are the foundation of our Republic and all free government……Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Well what does that have to say of our present form of government? It is apparent that we ceased to be a religious nation a long time ago. In 1960’s the Warren Court ruled the separation of church and state and thus removed the Bible from the schools. They trampled upon the First amendment that clearly stated that they were not “to prohibit the free exercise thereof”. But then we had by this time become a people that had accepted the amoral
Presently the Second Amendment is again being brought into question. No doubt the others will in time be brought into question as well. But for now the shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland FL leaving 17 dead has become the rallying point to do away with the Second Amendment. Strange how the NRA is being blamed for the tragedy when it was the FBI that dropped the ball!
This leads us to question, if all the good guys give up their guns, what assurance do we have that all the bad guys will do the same? If the FBI failed in keeping guns out of the hands of 19 year old mentally troubled Nikolas Cruz, what assurance do we have they will keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys? None!
But we are told we must do something to stop these school shootings! Yes that is true, but what are we to expect in regard to our school shootings? Look at our homes, they are filled with domestic violence-children are killing parents and parents are killing children. This is not to mention husbands killing wives and wives killing husbands. The home has become a danger zone and that is why we have the Department of Children Affairs.
Or what shall we say of Road Rage? People are being killed over the slightest provocation, even over a parking place. Why then is it so surprising if we have violence and shootings in our schools? Our entire society is out of control.
And as for the NRA, there are many testimonies where violent crimes were prevented by a member of the NRA coming upon the scene staying the havoc and even apprehended the culprit. They unlike the Broward police department and the school guard, upon the sound of gun fire fled in the opposite direction. But then what can we expect when people reject God? Have they not taken leave of their senses? Regardless of what one might say, it is quite apparent that the form of government handed down to us by our founding fathers is totally inadequate for us today. It was made for a religious people…and that we are not. What is worse, we are not willing to bow our knee to the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not willing to dethrone self. As Sipco Africans wept watching Carthage burn, so I weep as I watch America that I love die.

When are believers going to once again embrace the ORIGINAL AMERICAN DREAM?
