Dear Christ Church Family,

Recently, I felt challenged to identify some of the lies that have been tripping me up. You know the ones—the thoughts that quietly whisper, “You’re not enough,” “God won’t come through,” or “You have to carry this on your own.” Scripture tells us to “take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). That means we don’t have to accept every thought that enters our minds as truth. Instead, we can pause, examine it, and ask whether it aligns with what God says about us and our circumstances.

The Christian life is, in many ways, a continual renewal of our minds. God is transforming us to think more like Jesus, not merely by trying harder, but through the work of the Holy Spirit within us. As He reveals lies we’ve believed, He invites us to replace them with His truth. Sometimes that process is uncomfortable because the lies have become familiar companions. Yet freedom begins when we agree with God instead of our fears, feelings, or assumptions.

As we learn to identify lies, believe truth, and trust God more deeply, He faithfully changes us from glory to glory. Growth rarely happens all at once, but it does happen as we surrender each thought, each fear, and each struggle to Him. Today, take a moment to ask the Lord: “What lie am I believing that You want to replace with Your truth?” He is faithful to answer, and His truth will always lead us into greater freedom, peace, and Christlikeness.

Dear Christ Church Family,

I am keeping this brief due to a wonderful but lengthy list of announcements.

God didn’t exclude loving any other human being on this earth, so we shouldn’t either. If this is a challenge, focus on the God image in them because He sees their worth. Love like God does…with compassion but not compromise; with forgiveness but not blindness; with truth spoken to yourself and others. Love by the power of the Holy Spirit and in the example Jesus led us with. You can’t go wrong following Jesus’ lead.

Dear Christ Church Family,

If you knew there was a door that would lead to lasting hope, peace, and transformation, wouldn’t you want to walk through it? Pentecost is an invitation like that. This Sunday, we celebrate the powerful moment when the Holy Spirit came to dwell among God’s people—a gift lovingly prepared by our Heavenly Father for all who seek Him.

Pentecost is more than a remembrance; it is an opportunity to encounter God in a deeper, life-changing way. The same Holy Spirit who filled and empowered believers long ago still moves today, drawing us closer to our Creator and leading us beyond what we could imagine on our own.

The invitation is simple: come with an open heart, wait on the Lord, and seek Him. The Holy Spirit is not a gimmick or passing emotion, but the real and living presence of God, ready to meet you with love, power, and peace.
