Luke 15:3-7 contains the Parable of the Lost Sheep. In it, Jesus asks a crowd what a shepherd would do if he lost one of his 100 sheep. The shepherd leaves the 99 to find the one, carries it home on his shoulders, and celebrates with his neighbors, explaining that heaven rejoices over one repentant sinner.
