Hebrews 6:18-19 speak of the fact the Father cannot lie, and He keeps all His promises. In Him is our hope. His promises reveal the “unchanging nature of His purpose” (Hebrews 6:17). They give “strong encouragement” to cling to hope (v. 18). They ground assurance not in shifting feelings but in God’s fixed word and oath. His promises will be fulfilled, even when fulfillment is delayed. Walk in hope today.

Years ago, teaching a Bible study, a woman struggling with betrayal of the worst kind came and said, "I don't believe in absolutes, there is no pure truth." After weeks and months of weekly Bible study she came back and said, "Jesus is the way, The Truth, and absolutely the way of life." Fear, intimidation and struggle make us listen to Satan's lies, and before you know it, we are engulfed in doubt. Isaiah 28:9-10 is about the importance of teaching and learning spiritual truths gradually and systematically. Week by week reading, hearing, studying the Word of God; precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little there a little she came to know absolute truth. God's written word is transformative. Jesus, the living Word is salvation. Have you noticed how certain truths or lessons become clearer when you hear them repeatedly? So, let’s take heart in knowing that God, like a devoted teacher, is constantly guiding and teaching us through simple and repetitive lessons. Let’s embrace these teachings with open hearts and minds, allowing them to mold us into the wise and faithful individuals we are meant to be. Living Faith Church Jacksonville has Bible Study each Sunday at 9 am, and Wednesday at 6:30, along with Worship and praise at 10:30 Sunday, with a message by our pastor from God's Word to our hearts and lives. God poured out amazing undeserved love on believers, enabling us as true children, to call Him Father. The Father's love is an active, real gift. We, as His children, are to represent our Father in actions and words. Let us therefore, as a child of God, live out our identity through love and righteousness in the family and to the world. Pastor Wayne's Sunday message from the Lord cautioned that the holiness of God cannot mix with the world. The world here refers not to God's magnificent creation itself, but the world system opposed to God and His ways. Paul, in 2 Timothy 3:1-7, paints a sobering picture. He describes people who have traded love of God for love of pleasure. These are not people who openly reject faith. They may still claim to believe. But their hearts have shifted. Their priorities have been rearranged. And the result is a faith without substance, a devotion without depth. Love not this world, and the thing that are in this world. "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1."

Welcome the new month of September today. When it comes time for Bible Study, Worship Gathering, Prayer time, fellowship at church, what is our attitude? Is it 'I have to go to church today'? Or is it 'I GET to go to church. I am able to go. I rejoice to go,'? We are called to abound in the work of the Lord. This is an invitation to actively engage in serving and glorifying God through our actions. Whether through regular church activities, outreach, helping our neighbors, or simply living out the teachings of Christ in our everyday lives, all these contributions make a difference. We should approach our tasks with enthusiasm and dedication, not for recognition or reward from others, but for the pure joy of serving God.

The summer season is coming to a close. Reflect on the blessings you received this summer: vacations, long daylight hours, moments of peace, family time. 2 Peter 3:11 reminds us that in the end, what truly matters is the soul, not the “stuff” of the world. It challenges us to value people over possessions and to live in holy conduct and godliness in this time we are given. As we begin a new season, celebrate changing weather, changing leaves, harvest time, all the Lord's creation showing forth His might and majesty. Farewell August, hello September.

We never know what the day holds, not even the next hour. However, as a child of God, we can know the Father is with us, He is our hiding place. Our tongues are powerful, let them be an instrument of blessing in ourselves, and to others around us today. An act of faith, and a vocal affirmation can and will make a difference. Put your hand over your heart, be aware of the life-giving beat, breathe in, then breathe out saying 'The Lord is with me." A powerful acknowledgment and affirmation of God with us. Repeat as needed.

What can be shaken? In the past few months there have been devastating earthquakes, close to home, and affecting many of our churches and friends in the Philippines. Our personal lives can, and are, greatly shaken by health, relationship, jobs, and daily living. In Christ we are now a part of the 'Kingdom that cannot be shaken.' God is immutable, unchanging. "For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. Malichi 3:6." Hebrews six speaks of two 'immutable things': God never changes, He is Truth and keeps His promises. In a shaking, constantly changing world, this is a good moment to reflect, and give thanks, for all that cannot be shaken in your life.
