Calvary Lutheran Church - LCMS Calvary Lutheran Church (LC-MS) offers worship on Sundays at 8am and 10:30am, with Sunday School at 9:15am.

We are a Bible-based Christian church, specifically Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Practically, this means that we are focused and centered on the grace of God in Christ Jesus as revealed in His Holy Word, the Bible. We preach and teach the Word of God and seek to apply it to our everyday lives.

Calvary Family,

This coming Sunday is the Day of Pentecost, and unfortunately, we need to make some adjustments. Pastor is out of town to officiate the Buck wedding in Wisconsin, and we have exhausted every known option to find a substitute pastor for services. But we are not completely out of options. It’s not ideal, but here are the adjustments that we are making for this unique situation:

This Sunday we will gather for one service at 10:30. It will be an elder-led service of Matins. There will be no Bible class.

We remain thankful this is not an option we must exercise often, and also thankful to everyone for your willingness to flex and support the service. So please make a note of this for your Sunday worship plans. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Calvary Family,

We watched and we waited and it looks more and more like it would be unwise to have services tomorrow. We’ve still got several hours of what looks like will be significant accumulation ahead of us, and the ice that will almost certainly form up underneath it all.

We are cancelling all services tomorrow. Please stay home.

Pastor and the elders are working to see what we might be able to offer online, but that may not happen this Sunday, either.

All that said, we commend to you the readings and prayers for the 4th Sunday after the Epiphany for your in-home devotions:

1 Corinthians 1:18-31
Matthew 5:1-12

Almighty God, You know we live in the midst of so many dangers that in our frailty we cannot stand upright. Grant strength and protection to support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

A quick note about the weather we are anticipating:

At this point it is still our intention to have Divine Service on Sunday, but in an effort to keep people off the roads during the heaviest part of the storm we will plan to have one service at 10:30. This means that the early service, Sunday school, and Bible class will be cancelled this Sunday.

We will continue to monitor the weather, and if anything changes, we will work to get the word out as soon as we can.
