An example from the Bible that illustrates the concept of "The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" can be found in the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17.
In this story, David, a young shepherd, faces the giant Philistine warrior Goliath. Despite Goliath's size and strength, David is confident and unafraid because he trusts in the name and power of the Lord. Before engaging in battle, David declares to Goliath:
"You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." (1 Samuel 17:45, ESV)
David’s reliance on God rather than physical weapons or armor exemplifies the idea that the name of the Lord is a strong tower—a source of protection and deliverance. David, being righteous and placing his trust in God, finds safety and victory through his faith in the Lord. This story highlights the power and refuge found in trusting in God's name, much like the verse from Proverbs 18:10 describes.
