New Bishop :: Message from the Stake Presidency
The following message was mailed on Wednesday to all households in the Ward.

October 27, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

On Sunday, November 1, 2020, Bishop Bryan Leonard will be released as the Bishop of the Jacksonville Ward and with him, Richard Mudd and Scott Jess as 1st and 2nd Counselors. We invite you to meet with us on that day and express your gratitude to Bishop Leonard, Brother Mudd and Brother Jess for their service to the good members of the Jacksonville Ward.

As part of the sacrament meeting services on that day you will have the opportunity to sustain the new Bishopric of the ward. Sacrament meeting for the Jacksonville Ward begins at 10:00 am and will be in person and broadcast. Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday. We look forward to being with you.

Brothers and sisters, the Lord blesses His saints with good Bishops and Bishoprics. All of us are greatly blessed as we work to sustain the Bishop in the heavy responsibility he carries in caring for his ward every day for as long as he is called to serve. Your Bishop is the father of the ward and its greatest defender. Please join us in sustaining and supporting your new Bishopric.

With our warmest regards,

Springfield Illinois Stake Presidency

Fast Sunday - Brothers and Sisters, I forgot to mention that this Sunday is technically a fast and and testimony Sunday, but instead of sharing open testimonies, we will have a single speaker. We will look at possibly returning to a more traditional style testimony meeting next month.
