God Is Not Here

He had never felt such pain and felt so alone before.
"Where am I" he yelled. No answer.
It was totally dark, yet felt like he was on fire.
And the smell was overwhelming. He had smelled
sulfur before but never this strong.

Where are my children? A voice replied, "Your
children are not here."
'Where is my wife?" "Your wife is not here."
Then with fear he had never experienced before,
he cried out, "Where is God?
And his eternity closed in on him forever
as the voice answered "God is not here."

A Christian Home

It had been a big morning at church. It was a family dedication service, and the parents had dedicated their 4-year-old boy that day. As they pulled out of the church parking lot, they noticed their son was whimpering in the back seat. They asked him what was wrong. Through tears he said, "The preacher said he wanted us to be raised in a Christian home, but I want to stay with you guys!"

Paul wrote to the saints at Ephesus so they would know what a Christian home should be like. He begins with the household, because if the household is right, if husbands, wives, and children are living spirit filled lives, then the church will be better. If the church is better, then the community will be better. If the community is better, then the city will be better. If the city is better, then the state will be better. If the state is better, then the
country will be better. If the country is better, then the world will be better.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother - which is the first commandment with a promise - so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord"
(Ephesians 6:1-4).

Test The Ice

My brother and I wanted to play hockey on the frozen lake. We believed that the ice was thick enough, the temperature was well below freezing for several days. So we began to crawl slowly on the ice to make sure what we believed was true.

As we went out further and further, a truck pulling a trailer with an ice fishing hut drove right passed us. As soon as we saw that, we jumped up with greater confidence and played hockey all day!

As we look around the universe, we see God's creation and other evidence which build our faith. As we continue to search we find more and more evidence. Eventually, our faith grows stronger. We test the ice, and find that Christ is a firm foundation.

Faith is NOT blind faith. Seek and you will find! Faith affirming evidence is all around you!

"Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. 2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. 3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen."
(Hebrews 11:1-3 - NLT).

"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." (Romans 1:20 - NLT).

This is God's promise to all of us ! Rejoice!

Revelation 21:1-7 - New Living Translation.

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among His people! He will live with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or
sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."

5 And the One sitting on the throne said, "Look, I am making everything new!" And then He said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true. 6 And He also said, 'It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega - the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be My children."

Philippians 2:5-11.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6 Though He was God,
He did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, He gave up his divine privileges;
He took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When He appeared in human form,
8 He humbled Himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal's death on a cross.

9 Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor
and gave Him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Growing In The Lord

A group of tourists visiting a picturesque village walked by an old man sitting beside a fence. In a rather patronizing way, one tourist asked him, “Were any great men born in this village?”

The old man replied, “Nope, only babies.”

Every person who is a born-again believer starts life as a baby in Christ. Whether the new convert is six or sixty, that person is still a new Christian and needs to grow in the Lord. A baby Christian who has been saved for forty years is a tragedy. God intends for us to grow and mature so that we can be a positive influence in the lives of others. Until we learn to dig into the meat of the Word for ourselves, we will never grow.

Not Being Chosen: I Have No Worth

Verse two: God chose. Just as He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him in love (Eph.1:4)

Everybody I have ever become acquainted with has a story, usually from childhood, of not being chosen: not chosen for the glee club, not chosen for the basketball team, the last chosen in a neighborhood sandlot softball team (which is worse than not being chosen at all), not chosen for a job, not chosen as a spouse. Not chosen carries the blunt message that I have no worth, that I am not useful, that I am good for nothing.

But we are not good for nothing. God chose us - you and me. We are made in the image of God and we are chosen by God, the Creator of the universe. We have infinite worth - YOU have infinite worth !

About the Bible

An unknown writer said, "This Book is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding; its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's character. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure."

Don't Neglect the Bible

You may talk about power; but, if you neglect the one Book that God has given you as the one instrument through which He imparts and exercises His power, you will not have it. You may read many books and go to many conventions and you may have your
all-night prayer meetings to pray for the power of the Holy Ghost; but unless you keep
in constant and close association with the one Book, the Bible, you will not have power.

And if you ever had power, you will not maintain it except by the daily, earnest, intense study of that Book. Ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are merely playing at Bible study; and therefore ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are mere weaklings, when they might be giants, both in their Christian life and in their service.
