MEET REV. ANNA FLOWERS of the United Church in Walpole , MA
She says…
“Jesus didn’t come into this world to preach or to teach a My Way or the Highway kind of religion.”
“You have to claim Jesus as your Lord and Saviour to get into the kingdom of heaven makes no sense”
This is the reason why women aren’t called to lead the flock … This is the harsh truth… whether we like it or not.
Throughout the Bible, we are in service with or service to.
Eve, mother of all living-Genesis 2:23, Genesis 3:20
Mary, mother of Jesus-Luke 1
Mary Magdalene, the evangelist sent to tell the Lord’s resurrection to His disciple.-Mark 16
Elisabeth, mother of John the Baptist-Luke 1
Hannah, mother of Samuel-1 Samuel 1-2
Woman at well,the evangelist-John 4
Ruth, in service to mother-in-law Naomi, and later became wife of Boaz and great grandmother of David-Book of Ruth
Deborah, prophetess who went into battle with Barak upon his request-Judges 4
Lydia who ministered to the disciples-Acts 16
Phoebe, deaconess-Acts 16:1-2
Priscilla, wife of Aquilla who ministered tiger ether with her husband unto Apollos-Acts 18
Sarah, wife of Abraham, known for her faith and as the mother of nations.
Rachel, mother of Joseph kept her father Laban’s sheep but when she married, it was her husband keeping the sheep.
Genesis 29:9 (KJV)
And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep: for she kept them.
Genesis 31:4 (KJV) And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
Esther though queen, had boundaries she couldn’t cross …
Esther 4:11 (KJV) All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, [there is] one law of his to put [him] to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.
Esther 5:1-2 (KJV) 1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on [her] royal [apparel], and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. 2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, [that] she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that [was] in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
I know this will not sit well with a few… but we can’t be coddled.
We find women in leadership in places where men (Ahab) have abdicated their responsibility.
This is the cause and effect of the negligence of our men!
