🇺🇸 Today, as many in the United States celebrate Independence Day, we give thanks for the freedom to worship and live out our faith without fear.

We are also mindful that many across our global connection do not share these same freedoms. As one body in Christ, we stand in prayerful solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world who worship with courage in the face of persecution.

Wherever you are, may you experience the unshakable freedom found in Christ alone. ✝️🌍

Celebrating Mother’s Day with Biblical Mothers: An Ode to Faith, Love, and Sacrifice

By Dianne Burnett

On Mother's Day, we celebrate the timeless narratives of mothers in the Bible, whose stories radiate with faith, love, and sacrifice. From Sarah's steadfast patience to Hannah's determined prayers, from Mary's humble obedience to Jochebed's fearless courage, these women embody the essence of motherhood and the transformative power of God's grace. As we honor mothers worldwide, let us draw inspiration from their stories and strive to emulate their unwavering faith and devotion.

Sarah: A Portrait of Patience and Promise: Sarah's journey teaches us the beauty of patience and the fulfillment of God's promises. Despite facing years of barrenness, Sarah held onto faith, believing in God's assurance that she would bear a son, Isaac. Her story reminds us that God's timing is perfect, and His promises never fail.

Hannah: The Power of Persistent Prayer: Hannah's story demonstrates the power of prayer and the depths of a mother's longing. Despite enduring years of infertility and heartache, Hannah remained steadfast in her prayers to God. Her fervent plea for a child was answered, showcasing the miraculous ways in which God works in our lives.

Mary: Embracing Humility and Obedience: Mary’s humble obedience to God’s plan sets her apart as a model of virtue and devotion. From the miraculous conception to witnessing her son’s ministry and sacrifice, Mary’s journey is marked by unwavering faith and sacrificial love. Her example inspires us to submit to God’s will with humility and grace.

Jochebed: A Mother’s Fearless Love: Jochebed’s story is a testament to a mother’s fearless love and courage in the face of adversity. Faced with the threat of her son’s life, Jochebed took bold action to save him, trusting in God’s providence. Her bravery ensured the survival of Moses, who would later become a great leader and deliverer of his people.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, let us reflect on the timeless stories of mothers in the Bible and the profound lessons they impart. From Sarah’s patience to Hannah’s prayers, from Mary’s obedience to Jochebed’s courage, these women embody the virtues of motherhood and the enduring influence of God’s grace. May their stories inspire us to honor and cherish mothers everywhere, cultivating their virtues in our own lives and hearts.

Earth Day 2025

"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it." - Psalm 24:1

🌍 A Holy Call to Creation Care – Across the Globe 🌱

On this Earth Day, we recognize that caring for God’s creation is not limited to one day or one place—it’s a sacred responsibility shared by the global Body of Christ.

From the mountains of Rwanda to the plains of Texas, the lakes of Bulgaria to the coasts of the Philippines, members of the Global Methodist Church are serving as stewards of God’s creation.

📖 “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it…” – Psalm 24:1

As people who seek to spread scriptural holiness, let’s honor God by how we live, lead, and care for His creation—together, wherever we are in the world.

Where are you waiting on God right now? How might you lean into trust rather than fear?

Where are you waiting on God right now? How might you lean into trust rather than fear?

The energy of 2:42 was electric—but we also know that calling includes seasons of silence and waiting. Holy Saturday is that space. The in-between. The tomb. The stillness.

But don’t confuse silence for absence. Even in the dark, God is moving.

📖 Matthew 27:57–66
⏳ Reflect: Where are you waiting on God right now? How might you lean into trust rather than fear?

He was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
